Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to GaijinIsntPhysical. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
GaijinIsntPhysical , appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Lately I’ve been working on my main game “BEEF”. Its a crossover between the classic Def Jam games and The stylized action of anime. If y’all remember the Def Jam games, it was the ONLY franchise that had rappers fighting each other and was mad unique.
We haven’t had a game like that for a while decades. Today’s high schoolers never even heard of it. Major game studios have given up on game like that tailored to this kind of audience.
In addition to the classic formula, I’m also putting mainstream and Independent artists on the roster TOGETHER. Aiming to break down the social barriers between us.
It’s working out pretty well. There’s quite a few challenges doing this as a self taught game dev and ALSO without a big budget or industry backing.

GaijinIsntPhysical , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I go by GaijinIsntPhysical. I’ve done EVERYTHING related to the artists for the past decade. Director, Music Videos, Video Editing, Visual FX, Animation, Music, and now Game Development.
I’ve always been into Creativity since a kid and just have an overwhelming amount of ideas in my head at all times.
Especially in a world where everyone copies each other, hoping to be the next star.
Wish people would speak more about their own stories and realize that’s what will get you recognized. All the copies are here today and gone tomorrow. Don’t focus on them.
Right now I aim to make games that bring back actual creativity, instead of of the money grab remasters and micro transactions of modern age.
I also hop on social media and give other independent artists the information needed to succeed. Tons of random strategies and resources to make it big on your own strength.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Sheesh I got a lot of those. How about that time I got locked up for the most petty thing ever, which put a hard halt to my career. Completely out of my element. And still created a GREAT DOCUMENTARY while incarcerated?
Or how many times I’ve switched up my main creative outlet (from music videos to music to animation to games, etc.) and have thrived in every area before going to conquer a new one.
Always be able to evolve and adapt is the biggest lesson for any creative.
Learn to do it all, but SPECIALIZE in at least one area.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Become successful off of the ideas in my own head. Period.
And spread this philosophy to as many people as I can.
We don’t have to work for someone else our whole life.
Some of us are meant to change the algorithm of the world, and some are meant to follow those who change it.
Which one are you?
