We recently connected with Jaime Schekaiban and have shared our conversation below.
Jaime, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
My business is to educate people on Personal Finances through YouTube videos, books, training courses, and public speaking. I have always had this passion about Money and how to manage it. I love Real Estate investing and encourage everyone to get passive income on my videos. I am also a Spanish teacher on my spare time and I love to teach, so this business connects all my passions.

Jaime, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As the name implies, I am a Foreigner living in America since 2014. When I first got here, I was shocked with the differences that existed here like Credit Scores and the way Debt is managed. I quickly learned how to win the game and wanted other people to win as well. Social media is a great way to promote a brand and gain popularity to reach many people. My channel name is The Foreigner in America, as well as all the other social media sources. I have a book called A Foreigner in America Can Succeed which talks about the important pillars of life and how to be above average in each one of them. If you want to generate passive income, retire early, live debt free, and are interested in Money, please follow me!!

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
There are many books I’ve read during the years, but I think one of the most important ones is Rich Dad Poor Dad from Robert Kiyosaki. His second book called The CashFlow Quadrant is actually his best and most important for you to read. I also follow Brandon Turner’s books on Real Estate and his podcast called Bigger pockets. Reading is important because it gives you additional information which you wouldn’t get from people. Unless you have a solid mentor in life, you should find mentors in the books and get the info you need to take decisions in life.
Any advice for managing a team?
Currently I don’t manage a team for my business since it is not at a stage of maximum growth yet, but it will get there. I do have a Marketing Company that takes care of my Social Media. I have managed a team before and I was very successful doing so because I am a Genuine and Reliable person that talks the talk and walks the walk. Never ask a person to do something you don’t fully understand, always have their backs, never change your story, and never ever let them down. Those things will create a solid team that will respect you and trust you, and people with core competencies will bring value to your company.
