Jayla , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
I’ve always been a major foodie and loved to travel ! Every summer since I was a kid ,my mom would take us on a road trip and we’d stay in these places for weeks to a few months at a time really immerse ourselves in the culture . We’d make different stops on the way to our destination which would include trying local restaurants and trying cool excursions , this is truly where my passion for traveling and trying cool restaurants came from .Everyone around me knows i’m rarely ever in town , so constantly being on the go became a lifestyle for me . A few years ago when instagram first came out with the story feature ,I would always post my meals and cocktails . I would always get comments saying how I always have great meals and asking how the meal was . Back then it never clicked that I could actually turn this into a serious endeavor . In general conversation people would ask something along the lines of ” what are your goals , what do you want out of life ?” and my response would be the same every time , that all I wanted was to travel the world and eat good food ! So here we are today with my food blog page @offfcial24carrots.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I’ve done a lot of self reflecting to discover what my passion truly is . As simple as it sounds , trying new foods and experiences is truly my passion. There are so many hidden gems and hotspots in Atlanta alone that people don’t know about and it’s my duty to make my followers and others aware of such amazing things right outside their door . I try to be as specific as possible regarding my reviews of not only my meal but also other aspects that factor into the overall experience that makes grabbing a bite to eat so joyful .
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Consistency is key ! Especially being that my entire endeavor is solely based on social media presence , I strive to be as consistent as possible with making posts both on my instagram and tiktok . I also collab with other foodies around the world to increase traffic to each other’s pages as well as active engagement with activity on my posts.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I honestly wish I would’ve taken more footage years ago when i started posting my meals . I only did boomerangs and really short videos which I feel gave the audience a glimpse but didn’t fully expose the true essence of all the great meals, delicious cocktails and amazing travels i’ve experienced.
