We were lucky to catch up with Samantha Hurley recently and have shared our conversation below.
Samantha , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share a customer success story with us?
One of my favorite client stories is about a family relocating from the UK to Dallas, Georgia. Grant had been transferred for work, and he, his wife Maria, and their son Logan were beyond excited to start a new chapter in the States. Logan, especially, was pumped to trade in football (the UK kind) for basketball—and he couldn’t wait to play in a country where the sport is a way of life.
But getting them into a home was no walk in the park. They were brand new to the U.S., with no Social Security numbers and no established credit—two fairly important things when it comes to financing a home. I reached out to a few lenders and was quickly reminded that this would be anything but typical.
That’s where Gloria at Align came in. She specializes in international buyers, and with her help, we secured a great rate and closed in under 30 days.
On top of that, their home search wasn’t going smoothly at first—they wanted to buy in Woodstock or Acworth, but nothing was hitting the mark within their budget. I suggested we explore Dallas, which is nearby but offers a better value for your money. On our second day of showings there, they found ‘the one.’
Now they’re settled, Logan’s thriving (and charming his classmates with his accent), and they’re living their American dream.
I genuinely love coming up with creative solutions to complex problems—the crazier the better. It’s a huge part of what makes this job so fulfilling. It fuels me and is what drives me everyday. I couldn’t love my “job” more if I tried!
Samantha , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi there! I’m Samantha Hurley—most people call me Sam—and online, you’ll find me as Samantha Hurley Home Co., or by my handle, @SamSellsSuburbia. I’m a Georgia-based Realtor with Method Real Estate Advisors, proudly serving the northern suburbs of Atlanta. Whether I’m helping a local family upgrade, guiding first-time buyers, or supporting someone moving across the globe, I specialize in solving problems, building trust, and making real estate feel a whole lot less intimidating.
Real estate has been my dream career for over two decades, but I spent years working in community association management before finally taking the leap. I got my license in 2021, joined Method in May 2024, and haven’t looked back.
In less than one year, I’ve closed nearly $4 million in volume—and I’ve got three more closings lined up for May. I was also incredibly honored to be named Rookie of the Year for 2024, despite joining halfway through. That award means a lot to me, not just for the recognition, but because it reflects how hard I’ve worked to treat every single client like they’re the only one I’ve got.
My approach is anything but cookie-cutter. Every buyer, seller, and investor I work with gets a fully personalized experience—because no two stories are the same. I’m passionate about creative problem-solving (the crazier the challenge, the more excited I get!), and I thrive in situations that require quick thinking, empathy, and a whole lot of hustle. I also partner closely with trusted lenders, contractors, and inspectors—including access to our Method Makeover program, which helps sellers maximize their return with strategic updates—no upfront costs required. I will also stage your home if you entrust me to sell it, and I love to add special touches throughout the home to make the showing experience special and unique for every potential buyer that walks through the door.
What sets me apart? I genuinely care. I bring transparency, responsiveness, humor, and heart to every deal. I’m not just here to close transactions—I’m here to help people move forward, whether that’s to a bigger home, a new state, or a fresh start. I also believe real estate should be fun! I love educating my clients, celebrating their wins, and being the kind of agent you want to grab coffee (or a glass of wine) with even after closing.
What I’m most proud of isn’t just the volume or the awards—it’s the relationships. Many of my clients have become lifelong friends, and there’s no better compliment than a referral or repeat business.
So if you’re thinking about buying, selling, relocating—or even if you’re just dreaming for now—I’d be honored to be your real estate resource and help guide you. Let’s make your next move your best one yet!
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
For me, it’s all about building real, lasting relationships—not just closing deals. I stay connected with my clients long after the ink dries, whether that’s checking in, sharing home tips, or just being a continued resource and cheerleader in their lives. I treat every client like family, and that kind of genuine care goes a long way.
One way I show my appreciation specifically is through uniquely personalized gifts at closing. Each client receives a framed custom watercolor portrait of their new home, an artistic map with their location pinned, and a family (or individual) portrait paired with a tagline that captures who they are. It’s my way of honoring their journey and making sure their new chapter starts with something heartfelt and one-of-a-kind.
I also bring that same personal touch into every transaction—whether it’s through constant communication, creative problem-solving, or just making sure they feel seen, heard, and cared for throughout the process. I have a personalized buyers and sellers guide they receive once they sign their respective agreements with me. The goal isn’t just to get them to the finish line, it’s to make them feel supported and to explain the process every step of the way.
And that’s what fosters loyalty—when people know you’ve got their back, not just as an agent, but as a trusted friend. If we can finish a transaction with them feeling like I treated the transaction as my own, I feel confident that I’ve gained a client for life.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Definitely—and like most good pivot stories, mine starts with a little bit of poor management skills and a lot a bit of chaos!
I spent over a decade in HOA management—a career I started off loving. I was efficient, organized, and could juggle a board meeting, roofing project, and fifteen emails about pool key fobs before lunch. But over time, I began to feel unappreciated, unseen, and completely drained. I gave it everything, but it just didn’t give anything back. The end didn’t justify the means.
When my mom was diagnosed with cancer again (seventh recurrence), I changed job positions to give myself more flexibility with my schedule so I could care for her more often. However—plot twist—just one month in, and right after training, a misunderstanding with my boss landed me unemployed. I couldn’t believe it. I work hard. I care. I show up. And they didn’t even give me a chance. It stung. I left a perfectly good job only to be let go due to very poor management skills, and a company with an incompetent HR department.
I spent the next few months applying for jobs, getting rejected, and even ghosted by a company that promised an offer “tomorrow.” (Note to self: don’t trust vague promises and overly enthusiastic hiring managers.)
Then someone reminded me: “You have a real estate license—you’ve had it for years. Why not try it? What do you have to lose?” Truth is, I’d always wanted to, but watching friends and family ride the real estate roller coaster scared me. No guaranteed paycheck? Cold calling? Hard pass.
But I’d hit rock bottom with not many options. So, I put on my big girl pants and decided to give real estate a real shot. After a couple of interviews with brokerages that didn’t feel quite right, I stumbled across Method Real Estate Advisors. I hadn’t heard of them, but Google told me they were in the top 10 in Georgia for total volume. I’m a little bit competitive and I love to win (okay maybe a lotta bit), so I was intrigued to learn more about this unknown boutique brokerage that was competing (and beating) with the Keller Williams and Coldwell Bankers of the world.
I scheduled an interview and met with Andrew, our broker. And let me just say—it was love at first compliment. At the end of our meeting, he looked me dead in the eye and said, “I think you’re going to do great in this industry.” It wasn’t a line. It was genuine. And after months of feeling invisible, those words meant the world to me. In that moment, I really needed someone to believe in me.
He told me Method was innovative, high-tech, agent-focused (sure, every brokerage says that)—but this time, it was actually true. He also said most agents don’t leave once they join. They charge no monthly fees, feed us warm leads straight from our website, and provide the type of agent support I didn’t even know existed.
Fast forward a year later, and I’m thriving. With the help of Method, my amazing team lead JC, and our rockstar admin team, I’ve sold close to $4 million, have three more closings lined up for May, and—drumroll—I won Rookie of the Year for 2024. Not bad for someone who didn’t even join until almost halfway through the year!
Bottom line: I’ve found what I was always meant to do—and now I know for sure, real estate loves me back.
