Yanill, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?

After Birth, xo. LLC was a vision I was born with and the younger me would be so proud. I didn’t have the business name until March 2025, but this line of work is exactly what I’ve always enjoyed and volunteered myself for when it came to family, friends or someone in need. I went into the social work field as a professional, and soon after the birth of my daughter I found myself in the fourth trimester, needed exactly what I always extended— postpartum care. So I took a leap of faith and began training, working on building my community, serving and networking. The idea always existed for me but the execution happened when I experienced motherhood for the first time.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I began sharing my passion for postpartum care on social media shortly after I experienced the fourth trimester myself in 2022. I wasn’t always consistent, but people would always reach out to me and inquire about my experiences with childbirth, postpartum, etc. The curious audience led me to take social media a little more seriously March 2025 and I immediately saw a growth in my following, primarily on TikTok. My advice to those just starting social media presence would be to simply share, someone is interested and will gain something from you— whether it is knowledge, a service, or a resource. You never truly know who you’re inspiring.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

I am pleased to have partnership with my midwives at Swiss Ave Birth & Wellness, where I get a pull of clientele for my services. The second best source of new clients have been through social media platforms, where majority of my leads come from now. Additionally, I stay connected with local birth doulas in the DFW community and am likely to receive referrals in that way.
