We were lucky to catch up with Vladimir Simic recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Vladimir, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I always knew that I would do something in the fashion industry. But as a child I didn’t know how to define it. The only thing I know and remember is that as a child I loved to cut dolls’ hair. Maybe that is the best explanation why I am a hairdresser.

Vladimir, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have been in the beauty industry for 20 years. I love my job. I have met wonderful people through my work… I am a hairdresser. I have worked on the most important red carpets: Oscars, Golden Globes, Emmys, Grammys and many others. As well as on the covers of Elle, Vogue, QG, Vanity Fair magazines.. And today I am an ambassador for hair cosmetics ECRU from NY with whom I create trends for the popular seasons

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Yes. It happened when I came to America 8 years ago. At that time I was living and having a successful career in Europe. But my ambition and desire to follow my dream brought me to the United States of America. I am very happy with my choice. Although my idea seemed crazy because of everything I have achieved in my country Serbia.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I didn’t have to forget anything. I just upgraded my knowledge and raised my work one level higher..
