We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tiffany Berger a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, thanks for joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Leaving the classroom to launch Breathworx614 was one of the biggest leaps of faith I’ve ever taken. At the time, I was the primary provider of health insurance in my marriage, had three dependents—as well as a baby on the way—and was walking away from a secure job in education. But I also felt a deeper calling pulling me in a new direction. As a teacher, I often found myself dysregulated while trying to help students and their families regulate themselves. The toll it took on my nervous system signaled that something needed to shift.
When I read about breathwork in The 614 Magazine, a local community magazine, I began exploring the practice myself using YouTube videos. Each time I consciously connected to my breath, I experienced a profound sense of transformation—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. This sparked a desire to share this sacred healing tool with others. I enrolled in a Breathworker Life Coach certification program and began a year-long sabbatical from teaching, during which I practiced breathwork with my own children and students I tutored. The healing I witnessed was undeniable.
Launching Breathworx614 was a major risk—but it was rooted in faith, vision, and alignment. I knew I had to bring this work to my local community. Breathwork isn’t just a modality I use—it’s a way of living. It has helped me face old wounds, regulate my emotions, and live in alignment with my highest self. Today, I am grateful to teach others how to do the same.
Tiffany, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi, I’m Tiffany Berger, founder of Breathworx614 and creator of two soon to be state board-aligned certification programs in trauma-informed breathwork and life coaching. I’m a mother, former educator, and certified Breathworker Life Coach with a deep passion for helping others reconnect with their breath, their body, and their purpose.
Before launching my business, I spent over a decade as a classroom teacher and instructional coach. I witnessed firsthand how deeply dysregulation, trauma, and burnout affect students, teachers, and families. Despite my best intentions and training, I constantly found myself exhausted—trying to regulate others without the tools to regulate myself. It was during a moment of burnout that I discovered breathwork. Reading an article in The 614 Magazine sparked my curiosity, and I started exploring different breathwork practices on YouTube. Each session brought transformation—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I had found the medicine I didn’t know I needed.
What began as a personal practice turned into a calling. I enrolled in a Breathworker Life Coach training program and took a year-long sabbatical from teaching. During that time, I began practicing breathwork with my own children and the students I tutored. I witnessed healing unfold. That’s when I knew—this work had to be brought to my community.
Breathworx614 was born to fill a gap in trauma-informed healing. I offer 1:1 breathwork sessions, emotional coaching, family and youth support, and workshops for corporations and schools. I also mentor high school students and offer free community breathwork sessions to ensure access for those who might otherwise experience the gap.
What sets Breathworx614 apart is the integration of science and soul. My work blends nervous system education, somatic healing, and trauma-informed coaching with deep presence, intuitive guidance, and energetic integrity. My two certification programs—Trauma-Informed Breathwork Facilitator and Breathworker Life Coach Certification—train professionals to become ethical, confident, and heart-centered facilitators.
I’m most proud of the ripple effect this work creates. When we regulate our nervous system and release what no longer serves us, we treat others with more compassion. Healing becomes contagious. That’s what I want potential clients and students to know: You are not broken. Your breath is your power, and healing is your birthright.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the most transformative lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that my worth was tied to my productivity. For much of my life—as a teacher, mother, and someone deeply committed to helping others—I was always doing. I thrived on checking off my to-do list, believing that staying busy meant I was being valuable or successful. But beneath that constant hustle was a feeling of depletion, of never quite being enough no matter how much I achieved.
When I discovered breathwork, everything began to shift. I started to experience stillness in a way I never had before. For the first time, I asked myself, “How do I want to feel today?” instead of “What do I need to get done?” I realized I was missing the joy and presence of my life by constantly performing for an invisible standard I never agreed to in the first place.
Breathwork taught me how to pause, listen to my body, and prioritize my well-being. I learned to trust that I could create a meaningful life not through overextension, but through alignment. That shift became the foundation of Breathworx614. Now, I help others unlearn the same patterns—supporting clients, families, and organizations in moving from burnout to embodied living. The most beautiful part? When we choose presence over pressure, we don’t just heal ourselves—we invite others to do the same!
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
If I could go back, I would choose this path again without hesitation. Becoming a Breathworker Life Coach and launching Breathworx614 has been one of the most aligned, purpose-filled decisions of my life. I get to support people in healing emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually—and it is incredibly rewarding to witness the transformation that takes place when someone begins to accept themselves and reconnect with their breath.
Through breathwork, I help clients regulate their nervous systems, access emotional safety, and unlock subconscious patterns that may have held them back for years. As they begin to release stress and trauma stored in the body, they experience greater mental clarity, emotional balance, and spiritual connection. What I love most is watching clients shift into self-compassion, deepen their faith or sense of connection to God or Creator, and start showing up differently—not just for themselves, but in all of their relationships.
One of the most powerful truths I’ve learned and now share with others is that how we treat ourselves is how we treat the world. As my clients heal themselves, they begin to heal their families, their communities, and the spaces they inhabit—because their energy becomes more grounded, loving, and aware. I see more love in the room. I hear stories of synchronicities and miracles. I witness people awakening to their own inner wisdom and divine alignment.
This work isn’t just a profession—it’s a privilege. I get to help others remember who they are. And I can’t imagine doing anything else!
