Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dylan Shrier. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Dylan, thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I am a multidisciplinary designer and athlete whose career blends a passion for sports with creative expertise in branding, marketing, and visual storytelling. After studying Graphic Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where I also played college tennis, I launched into the professional world working on dynamic projects for major sports brands.
I have created work for prominent organizations like LIV Golf, Spartan Race, and MTV with a focus on brand identity, marketing campaigns, merchandise design, and event activation. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a strong ability to translate the energy, emotion, and culture of sports into compelling visual narratives. I’ve also balanced full-time roles and freelance projects, collaborating with fitness companies, sports startups, and non-profits — including fundraising efforts tied to your marathon running — to expand my portfolio.
My most essential skills include brand development, illustration, typography, digital and print production, and sports marketing design, all powered by expert use of the Adobe Creative Suite. I have built a reputation for your eye for detail, storytelling, creative agility, and the ability to channel your athletic mindset — discipline, endurance, and passion — into my design work.
Obstacles I have faced along the way included navigating transitions between freelance and corporate environments, balancing the high-speed demands of the sports industry, and learning to advocate for myself worth as a creative professional. Knowing what I know now, focusing earlier on networking, positioning myself confidently in salary negotiations, and sharpening business-side skills like project management might have accelerated my path even more.
Today, I continue to merge my love of sports and design, aiming to create work that inspires movement, competition, and connection — both on and off the field.

Dylan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a multidisciplinary designer and athlete with a passion for creating work that moves people — literally and emotionally. I studied Graphic Design at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where I also competed as a collegiate tennis player. Sports and creativity have been tightly connected throughout my life, and it was natural for me to build a career where both could thrive side by side.
I got into the sports design industry because I’ve always been fascinated by how visual identity shapes energy, community, and performance. As being an tennis player and marathon runner, I had an eye for detail within the space. My early roles with brands like LIV Golf and Spartan Race gave me the foundation to design branding, marketing campaigns, merchandise, and event experiences that not only look great but feel authentic to athletes and fans.
Today, I provide a range of creative services including brand identity design, campaign development, merchandise and apparel graphics, digital and print marketing, and event branding. Whether it’s launching a new brand, refreshing an existing one, or creating bold visuals for major events, my focus is always on making work that captures spirit, energy, and connection.
The problems I solve for clients are often about storytelling and standing out — helping them find a clear, dynamic visual voice in a fast-moving and competitive world. What sets me apart is the way I combine an athlete’s mindset — discipline, endurance, passion — with a designer’s eye for detail and strategy. I understand the emotions behind sports and fitness because I live them every day, and that authenticity comes through in my work.
I’m most proud of being able to merge my two biggest passions into a career: design and athletics. Whether it’s contributing to the branding of major sports events, designing for athletes, or creating merchandise that people wear proudly, it means everything to me to create work that inspires action and community.
Above all, I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that my work is about movement, energy, and connection — and that I bring the same drive to every project, big or small. If you’re looking for creative work that’s bold, meaningful, and built to move people, I’m your designer.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One story that really illustrates my resilience comes from my early days as a student and young designer. Growing up with dyslexia, I always knew I saw and processed the world differently. While reading and traditional academics were often a challenge, creativity was where I found my strength. Still, being different meant I had to work harder — not just to keep up, but to prove to myself and others that I could be the best at what I loved.
In college, studying graphic design at SCAD while also competing as a varsity athlete wasn’t easy. Balancing the demands of high-level sports and the intense, fast-paced creative world pushed me to develop an incredible work ethic and find smarter, more efficient ways to tackle challenges. I couldn’t always take the “standard” path others did — I had to create my own methods, trust my instincts, and put in extra hours honing my craft.
Early in my career, that same mindset helped me stand out. I learned to turn what once felt like a disadvantage into a superpower — seeing patterns others missed, thinking visually in ways that connected deeper with audiences, and approaching every project with a grit and perspective shaped by overcoming challenges.
Today, I’m proud not just of the work I’ve created, but of the journey it took to get here. Having dyslexia taught me resilience, creativity, and relentless dedication — traits that continue to fuel everything I design, build, and share.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely — my creative journey is driven by a mission to merge design and sport in a way that inspires movement, community, and progress. I’m passionate about working with running and athletic brands because I believe sport is so much more than competition — it’s connection, empowerment, and transformation.
My goal is to take sport to the next level by creating visuals, branding, and campaigns that capture the true spirit behind athletic performance. I want my work to push the culture of running and fitness forward — making it more inclusive, more energetic, and more meaningful. Whether it’s designing for a race, a sports brand, or a fitness community, I’m always aiming to create experiences that make athletes and everyday movers feel seen, motivated, and proud to be part of something bigger.
At the heart of everything I do is the belief that great design doesn’t just support sport — it elevates it.
