We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Evannah V. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Evannah below.
Evannah , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I am Evannah V, a Belizean-American artist whose life and music are a vibrant fusion of cultures, education, and experiences.
Roots and Routes: A Journey Through Sound and Story
Chicago’s Canvas My artistic journey began in Chicago, attending the Franklin Fine Arts Center and Lincoln Park High School. I further honed my craft at Columbia College Chicago, immersing myself in the city’s dynamic arts scene.
Legacy of the Bell Cultural Arts Connection: My grandmother’s establishment of the Bell Cultural Arts Connection on Chicago’s South Side provided a nurturing space for artists and community members. This legacy continues to inspire my commitment to fostering creativity and cultural expression.
Belizean Beats: Summers in Belama Phase 2, Belize City, connected me to my heritage. Collaborations with artists like My sister Micah allowed me to blend Belizean rhythms with contemporary sounds, creating a musical fusion that is uniquely mine. As well as starting an indie label with her as her protégé
Global Grooves: Performances in Mexico and Guatemala expanded my musical vocabulary, infusing my work with international influences and enriching my artistic expression.
Crafting My Sound: A Fusion of Influences
My music is a melting pot of my experiences—Chicago’s urban pulse, Belize’s soulful melodies, and global rhythms. Collaborations with artists such as Tee Wanz on tracks like “Summer Bae” reflect this blend, showcasing a sound that is both innovative and deeply personal.
Beyond the Notes: A Multifaceted Creative Endeavor
Beyond music, I am a digital marketing specialist, content creator, and A&R & creative strategist and I have been honored by my college Columbia College Chicago in a Hopkins honor exhibit. My role as a freelance film content creator and mentor to emerging artists allows me to guide others through the intricacies of the music industry, fostering a community of creativity and growth.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m EvannahV, a singer, songwriter, and lifestyle creator with a mission to fuse my Belizean roots with modern sounds in music. I come from a musical family, and my grandmother ran a music school in Chicago, which laid the foundation for my journey. Growing up attending fine arts schools and working in the entertainment industry, I developed a deep love for both music and content creation. My artistic path blends these two passions, creating unique fusion music that represents my heritage while staying current with global trends.
I’m currently in the process of rebranding my music and content to reflect my evolving identity as an artist. I’m proud to have worked with some incredible brands like Canon, YSL, and Valentino and have been honored to work with industry leaders at events like SXSW and Lollapalooza. I’m also deeply involved in advocating for artists’ rights, especially regarding AI, and have been involved in artist advocacy efforts, including working with Jasmine Crockett’s office on this issue.
In addition to my music, I’m creating content that brings people closer to my creative process, my travels, and the lifestyle I live. My mission is to be a voice for creativity and authenticity, both musically and as a lifestyle influencer. I offer products and services related to music creation, brand partnerships, content creation, and consulting, especially around building a personal brand and navigating the industry.
What sets me apart is my ability to seamlessly blend culture and creativity while staying true to my roots and authenticity. Whether it’s through music, fashion, or lifestyle content, I focus on showcasing art in a way that resonates with people on a deeper level. What I’m most proud of is how I’ve managed to combine my diverse experiences in both music and content creation to carve out my own unique space in the industry.
What potential followers, clients, and fans should know is that my brand is all about staying true to who I am—fusing my Belizean roots with global sounds, while also being a voice for change in the entertainment industry. I want to inspire others to embrace their authenticity, to explore their creative passions, and to break boundaries in everything they do.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Society can best support artists and creatives by fostering an environment of collaboration, accessibility, and respect for creative expression. This includes investing in educational programs that support artistic skills, providing platforms where creatives can showcase their work, and creating spaces where collaboration between various disciplines can flourish. Additionally, promoting fair compensation for artists and valuing their contributions in all industries will help maintain a sustainable ecosystem.
Support also extends to actions like streaming music, buying tickets, attending shows, and sharing work—every bit counts. A simple repost can make a big difference. We wouldn’t be able to create if it weren’t for you, our community. Your support means so much to us, and we truly appreciate you for helping us continue to do what we love. Thank you for being the driving force behind our creativity!”

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Earlier in my creative journey, I wish I had known more about the business side of the industry, such as understanding contracts, copyright laws, and financial management. Having access to resources that offer guidance on these aspects would have been invaluable. I also wish I had been introduced to platforms and networks that could connect me with other artists and industry professionals sooner. These connections and insights could have helped me grow my brand faster and more effectively. The right resources and mentorship can truly make a difference in an artist’s journey.
Additionally, I’ve learned that it’s okay to fail—it’s all part of the learning process. Each experience teaches you how to be better and keep moving forward. It’s important to steer your own boat, be your own light, and trust that the right people will come to you. You create your own path and determine what works for you. Above all, remember to enjoy the journey because life is rich with the memories we make along the way.”
