We recently connected with Toni Morales and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Toni, thanks for joining us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t change the moment I started my creative career—it laid the foundation for who I am today. What I would change, however, is the level of access to serious, experienced professionals behind me. My mother has always been my biggest supporter and truly believed in my dreams. Unfortunately, despite having family members with access to greater resources and opportunities, they never extended a helping hand.
Because of that, we made the most of what we had—working with more affordable studios and leaning on family friends. While those experiences came with limitations, they also taught me a lot and gave me hands-on insight that I carry with me to this day. It’s all part of the journey, and I’m proud to say I’m still carving my path and getting closer to reaching my dream.
Toni, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a young woman from New York City who’s been chasing a dream since I was nine years old. That’s when I first discovered my love for writing. By the age of 13, I was already in the studio, crafting songs with just a few opinions in the room and a lot of heart. From there, I continued to build myself up, step by step, with my mom as one of my biggest support systems and a circle of friends who never stopped believing in me.
Today, I’m proud to provide services that help other artists shape and elevate their own journeys—whether that’s through artist development, songwriting, or creative direction. I also offer graphic design services, from cover art to visuals for radio and talk shows. I edit videos, direct them, and create story treatments that bring an artist’s vision to life. Visual creation is a huge part of who I am, but above all else, I’m an artist first—a Jane of all trades, fully committed to the craft.
And while I’m available and passionate about helping other artists grow, I also make it a priority to advance my own artistry. I continue to put myself and my creativity first—not only to fulfill my own vision, but to pave the way for others who may choose to follow in my footsteps, take my advice, or simply be inspired by the example I set.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Resilience has been a constant theme throughout my journey, but one of the most defining points came when I was diagnosed with IBS and fibromyalgia at just 15 years old. Living with chronic pain and unpredictable symptoms isn’t easy—it still isn’t. There are days when I’m sick, in pain, or struggling to eat properly, and it all affects not only my body, but my mood, my energy, and my ability to function like I want to.
Despite that, I’ve never let it stop me from creating. In fact, it’s made me more determined to push through and share my voice. Music has always been my way of connecting to people, of reaching hearts—and that purpose gives me strength on the days when my body feels like it’s working against me. Every song I write, every performance, every moment of creativity is a win against the challenges I face daily. And for me, that’s what resilience really looks like: showing up for your dream, even when it hurts.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part about being an artist is seeing the impact my work can have on people. I’ll put out a song, thinking it’s just something I needed to release for myself—and then it reaches far more people than I expected. To see a few hundred listeners connect with my story, or feel seen in something I wrote during a vulnerable moment, means everything to me.
It reminds me that music is healing. That one song, one verse, one line can change someone’s mood, help them feel understood, or even get them through a hard day. As artists, we never fully know what someone else is going through—but our words, our melodies, our stories can make a real difference. That ability to heal and connect, one listen at a time, is by far the most rewarding part of what I do.
