We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jantana a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jantana, thanks for joining us today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
Launching my independent motion design practice was a natural next step after years of building experience at top studios. I started by refining my portfolio to focus on concept-driven, emotionally resonant work—the kind of storytelling I wanted to be known for. I reached out to collaborators, updated my reel, and began taking on projects that aligned with that vision.
Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work with world-class teams like Active Theory, Mathematic, and a fast-growing tech startup—leading motion design efforts across 3D campaigns, immersive digital experiences, and product storytelling. Each collaboration has helped me grow not just as a designer, but as a creative partner trusted to elevate a brand’s voice through motion.
That first step—choosing to bet on my own creative instincts—laid the foundation for everything that followed.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a French motion designer based in Los Angeles, working at the intersection of design, animation, and storytelling. My work spans 2D and 3D motion for immersive experiences, digital products, and brand campaigns.
Originally trained in graphic design, I transitioned into motion to explore how movement can create deeper emotional resonance. Today, I focus on concept-driven work that combines visual elegance with narrative depth.
Beyond client work, I’m an AIGA member and serve as a judge for international creative awards like the Webby and Lovie Awards—something I’m especially proud of, as it reflects both my expertise and commitment to the industry.
What sets my work apart is a thoughtful, detail-driven approach and a strong design sensibility. I love helping brands tell meaningful stories through motion—and crafting visuals that people remember.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes—what drives me creatively is the desire to create work that’s not only visually compelling but also meaningful and generous to the community. I want to inspire younger creators the same way I was inspired early in my career: by seeing thoughtful, well-crafted work and realizing what’s possible with design and motion.
Part of that mission is continuing to share, support, and feed the creative community—whether that’s through mentorship, contributing to juries like IADAS and FWA, or simply being visible as a creative working across disciplines and cultures. I want my journey to show that you can build a path that’s both creatively fulfilling and rooted in collaboration, curiosity, and care.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
My reputation has been cultivated through a relentless pursuit of excellence in both craft and character. I am deeply committed to the highest standards of design and motion, ensuring that every project I undertake is executed with precision and thoughtfulness.
Beyond technical skill, I believe that building strong, lasting relationships is key to success. Through my work, I’ve developed a reputation for not only delivering exceptional visual experiences but also for bringing clear communication, strategic insight, and a collaborative spirit to every project. This combination of creative excellence and professional integrity has positioned me as a trusted partner in the global creative community.
