We were lucky to catch up with Hannah Kiemel recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.
Amusé Event Co. was started from a personal passion and love of events and weddings. The very first wedding we ever planned was for a close friend, who gave us our first opportunity. The business started as a side hustle, which allowed us to start smart and thoughtful. One of our core values is approaching every wedding and couple with intention and detail that truly reflects them. With a side hustle start, there was no rush to scale immediately, so we were able to take our time and build out portfolio of work. As each wedding wrapped, our couples were quick to refer us to their friends and family…and from there we slowly grew.
Over the past 6 years, we’ve continued to fine tune our wedding planning and design process. We believe in crafting weddings that are seamless, deeply personal, and, most importantly, a true reflection of our couples. Our process blends intentional design with stress-free logistics so they can enjoy every step along the way.

Getting into the wedding planning business has always been a dream. When our close friend asked if we’d be willing to help plan their wedding, we jumped at the chance to finally make this dream a reality.
At the heart of our wedding planning process is a commitment to making wedding day as smooth and unforgettable as possible. We offer full service wedding planning and design. The couples who gravitate towards our style are those who care about design as much as they care about the overall experience for their guests. They want to host a day that feels uniquely them, they need help bringing it to life and understand the value of hiring a team who will be your biggest advocates and support system.
We believe that planning a wedding should be just as enjoyable as the day itself. While other planning teams might assign you one planner from a large team, we offer the luxury of two fully dedicated planners who work with you from start to finish. From the beginning of the wedding planning process, down to the moment you make your wedding exit – you will have both of us by your side!
Hannah focuses on design, ensuring your wedding reflects your unique style and personality. With a background in architecture and interior design, she has an eye for creating stunning aesthetics that flow seamlessly from the first moment to the last.
Victoria oversees logistics and ensures that everything runs smoothly on the day-of. With a strong background in sales and client services, she’s a natural at problem-solving, negotiating with vendors, and keeping your wedding day stress-free.

Personalization & Authenticity – From day one, we take the time to get to know our couples – their unique love story, style, and vision. Our process starts with a detailed design questionnaire that helps us capture what matters most, ensuring their wedding is uniquely them.
Stress-Free Planning – We believe wedding planning should be FUN! That’s why we create an experience that lets them enjoy the process from start to finish. From breaking the process into manageable steps to handling vendor coordination, we make sure they can focus on celebrating while we take care of the details.
Attention to Detail & Exceptional Service – From timelines to table settings, we leave no detail overlooked. We anticipate challenges before they arise, ensuring every aspect of the day is executed flawlessly. We are here to provide expert guidance, proactive solutions, and unwavering support every step of the way.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Building a reputation within our industry is an ever growing process! It’s all about making authentic, meaningful connections because you never know where one conversation could lead to a future collaboration. When it comes to our approach, we like to blend the below:
– Styled Shoots: Because our field is such a visual and creative industry, we aim to coordinate at least one styled shoot per year. With each shoot, we like to work with new vendors and venues that we have never worked with. This allows us to foster new relationships and opportunities to collaborate with more like minded creatives! The styled shoot is also a great way to showcase some of our dream ideas and depth of work for future couples.
– Assisting other planners: Planners can always use more hands on wedding day! Any time one of our planner friends has needed additional hands, we jump at the opportunity. It’s a great way to meet and bond with more industry vendors. It also offers exposure to a new planning perspective. We’re always growing and trying to fine tune our process to make it the best possible experience. Opening yourself up to the approach from other planning teams is a great way to do this!
– Attend industry events: Whether is a wedding expo, a venue open house or a vendor specific event we try to stay very engaged in our wedding planning community!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect is the payoff of seeing wedding day come to life after months of planning. Our couples reactions are always above and beyond our expectations. One couple even included a public thank you to us as part of their guest welcome speech. We know how special this day is, we know choosing a planning team is a big decision and we’re always so grateful that our couples chose us!
