Today we’d like to introduce you to Etsperal.
Hi Etsperal, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve had a strong passion for music from a young age, beginning my journey with classical training in piano and trumpet. My parents recognized my talent early on and encouraged my musical growth, providing the support I needed to develop my skills. Over the years, I’ve undergone extensive classical training and my skills span a wide range of instruments, including piano, trumpet, mellophone, and French horn, along with several secondary instruments. This versatility has allowed me to explore diverse styles, from classical and jazz to experimental media compositions.
I first started creating music for Roblox games during my early teenage years, which laid the foundation for my growth as a composer. These projects gave me the opportunity to experiment with different styles of music composition and develop my unique sound.
After gaining experience in creating game soundtracks, I transitioned to producing original music, debuting with my single Sleep Thoughts. This song was deeply personal to me, inspired by my pet dog’s cancer diagnosis, and marked a significant turning point in my creative journey. I continued to develop and release more original music, expanding my portfolio and connecting with listeners on a deeper level.
Eventually, I found myself drawn back to composing original soundtracks for video games. This led me to work with game studios on larger projects, and some short films.
As of March 2025, I’m looking at an upcoming release “when the stars fell asleep”. This will be available on all major streaming platforms and more information can be found here: https://push.fm/ps/whenthestarsfellasleep.
I’m also looking at new collaborations as I continue expanding my portfolio and exploring new creative opportunities. I’m always excited to push my boundaries and see where my musical journey takes me next.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I haven’t faced too many struggles, but balancing my intensive studies with real-life music commitments has definitely been a challenge. Juggling rigorous academic work alongside composing, performing, and collaborating on music projects requires a lot of discipline and time management. At times, I’ve let my well-being and mental health take a backseat, and it’s something I know I need to work on. Finding the right balance between passion, responsibility, and self-care is an ongoing process, but I’m learning to prioritise it more.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a composer, producer, and musician specialising in creating music that evokes deep emotions and enhances storytelling. With over 14 years of classical training, I’ve developed a strong foundation in various instruments, particularly the trumpet and piano, which has allowed me to explore different genres and approaches, from classical and jazz to media composition.
My work is best known in the realm of video game and film soundtracks, where I blend classical techniques with modern production to create immersive musical experiences. I strive to make music that captures emotions to resonate with listeners and enhance the worlds they’re experiencing through my music.
I’m most proud of having my music featured across games, films and animations that have amassed over 100,000,000 plays/views/streams, as of March 2025. It’s not a huge number, but as someone who is still growing and still starting out, it is a big thing for me. If someone had told me two years ago, that people from all over the world would be able to listen my music, I would have never believed them. Yet here I am, and I’m only going to keep going!
What sets me apart is my ability to merge my classical training to bring out all those random ideas, emotions and thoughts that we have as humans. I aim to not just create soundtracks, but rather create pieces of music which can connect deeply with the human experience.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
There isn’t a single resource that defines my journey, but rather a mix of tools, experiences, and inspirations that help me do my best work.
Most importantly, my biggest resource is experience itself – creating, experimenting, and learning from mistakes. At the end of the day, no app or book can replace the process of actually making music and letting emotions drive the sound.
