Today we’d like to introduce you to EVERGIB Rachel Scott Everett & Brian Gibson.
Hi EVERGIB, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
EVERGIB began as an experiment in creative freedom. After spending over a decade at ad agencies, we wanted to pursue a different way to live and work – one that provided more flexibility, fulfillment, and inspiration.
In 2015, we founded EVERGIB, a nomadic creative studio specializing in strategically led advertising and branding. Our vision was to build relationships that aren’t bound by geography – where agencies and companies can get access to smart thinking and beautifully executed work wherever they (and we) are in the world.
Today, we continue to make that vision a reality, partnering with travel, hospitality, and lifestyle brands that challenge us creatively, as well as mission-driven nonprofits that allow us to contribute to a greater cause. This mix of work aligns with our passions and ensures our work remains both impactful and meaningful.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any entrepreneurial journey, we’ve had our ups and downs.
When we first started EVERGIB, remote work was far from the norm. Agencies and clients were skeptical of a location-agnostic business model. So we had to work twice as hard to prove that great work could happen outside of traditional spaces and conventional systems. It wasn’t until the pandemic that perspectives shifted and companies began embracing the autonomy and productivity that come with a work-from-anywhere approach.
Another challenge was refining our focus. In the early days, we took on a wide range of projects to establish (and sustain) ourselves. Over time, we built a reputation that now allows us to be more intentional – seeking out people who share our values, whether in creativity, purpose, or a sense of adventure.
Lastly, the balancing act of being creative while running a business is a constant learning experience. We love being creative professionals because we believe in the power of ideas, storytelling, and craft. But as entrepreneurs, we’re also responsible for everything else: payroll, contracts, account management, and more. Navigating both sides – creativity and operations – has pushed us to grow in unexpected, yet fulfilling ways.
We’ve been impressed with EVERGIB, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We believe the best creative work is inspired work.
For us, being nomadic isn’t just a lifestyle – it’s essential to how we work because it fuels our creativity. The exposure to new ideas, cultures, and ways of thinking keeps our work fresh and innovative. By continually seeking out experiences – both far away and close to home – we’re able to bring broader perspectives and deeper insights to every project.
Having traveled to over 200 cities across 60+ countries on six continents, and made five cross-country drives across the U.S., we’ve seen firsthand how different places influence our creativity. Most recently, we’ve been working remotely from Mexico City and will soon be heading to Medellín, Colombia. The experiences we have at new destinations always bring a unique perspective to the work we create.
Beyond drawing inspiration from diverse cultures around the world, one of the most rewarding aspects of our business is helping brands articulate not just what they do, but why it matters. We’re drawn to projects that make a real impact – whether it’s encouraging people to embark on new experiences, amplifying a nonprofit’s mission, or elevating a nationwide movement that deserves attention.
Our projects are a direct reflection of our expertise, interests, and values – from working with iconic national brands like Atlantis Resort and Dollywood, to community nonprofits advancing women’s rights, social equality, human services, and more.
We define success not by the size of our client list or the number of awards won, but by the impact of our work and the lasting relationships we build along the way.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
As we approach our 10-year anniversary, we’re grateful for the experiences that have shaped us, personally and professionally. This past decade has been all about discovery – a time of clarifying who we are, what we stand for, and how we want to work and live.
Because our business has evolved, so too has our way of working. For select projects, we now partner with other entrepreneurs and small businesses – a shift that has been both creatively enriching and personally rewarding. These collaborations expand our capabilities, elevate the work, and allow us to foster a tight-knit community of independent, like-minded creatives – and it makes the process a lot more fun.
Just as we seek out new experiences for inspiration, we also welcome fresh viewpoints to ensure every project is infused with originality and intention.
As more people embrace unconventional ways of working, we’re excited about the possibilities ahead. We hope to continue cultivating a business – and a life – that reflects our values, keeps us inspired, and allows us to leverage our creativity to do meaningful work with people all over the world.
