I worked with a young woman who is a college student, and she came to me with issues related to self-esteem, self-confidence, body image, taking care of her health, friendships and other relationships, figuring out what she wants to do next in her life, spending time alone, and happiness. She is a straight A student at an excellent university, and she has many things going for her and many options. She has friends, and some of them are healthy friendships. Some were not. She has had numerous accomplishments and accolades. I provided her a nonjudgmental, safe space to bring her concerns and tools to address them. We worked together to analyze her strengths, challenges, and goals. Read more>>

I once had a student who was “afraid of green.” When we met, she adamantly professed that no green vegetable would ever pass her lips. I reassured her that while I enjoy seeing students sample new or unfamiliar foods, I would never force a child to eat.

I watched my young student attentively and carefully roll her gnocchi. She took such pride in making the pesto, in spite of her hesitation and fear. Read more>>

One of my favorite client stories is from a surprise proposal I helped plan for Ryan and Anna on the Big Island. Ryan had a secret spot tucked away on the north shore cliffs that meant a lot to him, and he wanted it to be the place he asked Anna to marry him. The moment was incredibly personal—Ryan had written a song for Anna and sang it to her just before dropping to one knee. Even though it was super windy that day, I made it a priority to help them feel relaxed and completely in the moment. Read more>>

I had a client who served in a senior music ministry position and was experiencing micromanagement, bias, and dictatorship while serving. The client lacked support and follow-through from the senior pastor concerning implementing bi-laws and how the music department should operate. Over time, the inconsistency in enforcing the bi-laws became detrimental to the effectiveness of the music department’s choir rehearsals, choir member participation, and accountability, leading to the demise of the worship experience. Not only did this cause a decline in the impact of worship service, but it also caused choir members to sense a progressive division of leadership between the senior pastor and the ministry of music. Azhar & Azhar Law firm recently had a client who was a citizen of India and was in the US on an H-4 dependent visa. Her spouse is on H-1B (professional work visa), and her child is a US citizen. She overstayed her status after her spouse’s employer failed to her file her H-4 extension on time, and so when she went for visa stamping abroad, she was denied the H-4 visa stamp. She hired another law firm to file her waiver, but after waiting for 1 year, the waiver was denied. She then hired Azhar & Azhar Law Firm to prepare a second waiver. Read more>>

A Destination Wedding Success Story: Francesca & Daren’s Dream Wedding at Unico Riviera Maya Francesca and Daren fell in love with Tulum, Mexico during a New Year’s Even trip.
