We were lucky to catch up with Echo Huang recently and have shared our conversation below.
Echo, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
It was during college—I went to Berklee College of Music—which felt scary at the time because it was filled with incredibly talented people who were my age or even younger. But it was also those same people who helped me gain confidence and encouraged me to pursue what I’m doing now. Seeing my peers go after what they wanted without overthinking inspired me to do the same.

Echo, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Echo Huang, an independent R&B artist currently based in Los Angeles. I studied at Berklee College of Music and have been pursuing music professionally ever since.
I write from personal experience—for those who love deeply, who’ve lost themselves, and who’ve chosen to put themselves first. I’m creating a world through my music where I can feel it all: the sadness, the joy, and everything in between. A place where I’m grieving, healing, and sometimes just saying “I give up”—and not regretting it later.
At first, this world was just for me. But when I’m ready, I send out invitations to others who feel the same. And that moment—when someone else steps into it and finds themselves in my words—that feels magical to me.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
It is pretty hard nowadays especially when social platforms like tiktok is playing a big part in today’s music industry. My advice on that is to just do it and be consistent about it. Especially when you just started your social media journey, don’t overthink it too much, so what it doesn’t look 100% aesthetic pleasing, so what if you think it’s not eye catching enough, not funny enough, the point is you never know what’s gonna happen. JUST DO IT.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think the most rewarding part is when the fans reach out to you and tell you how much your music has helped them and healed them. That’s when you know you’re on the right path.
