We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hannah Nichol a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Hannah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I started my business in 2018 as a solo website designer, working with businesses and nonprofits to help them grow and connect with their audiences online. I loved bringing their visions to life, but I pretty quickly noticed a deeper need. So many purpose-driven brands were doing meaningful, community-centered work but struggling to stand out in a crowded digital space. Their stories were powerful, their missions clear, but they lacked the marketing support and strategy to scale their impact.
After launching their websites, clients often came back asking, “Now what? ” They needed help getting traffic, engaging their audience, and turning visitors into donors, clients, or advocates. I realized what fueled me most wasn’t simply bringing UX and design expertise to a website project; it was helping brands use those platforms to grow their impact. Most business owners know they need marketing, but many don’t know where to begin or how to prioritize their efforts in a way that yields high-impact results.
That’s really when Mane Impact was born. It started out under my name and became something bigger. We rebranded in 2020 to focus on amplifying the voices of mission-driven brands in a way that’s both strategic and values-aligned.
As the business grew, so did my perspective. In my personal life, I was becoming more intentional about sustainability and how I showed up in the world. But I hadn’t considered how sustainability and digital marketing could be connected. That shifted when I read Tom Greenwood’s book, Sustainable Web Design. It was truly a lightbulb moment. I saw a new opportunity to help brands align their digital presence and their environmental values. By combining strategy, creativity, and sustainability, we help organizations contribute to their triple bottom line: people, planet, and profit.
Today, we’re proud to support values-driven businesses and nonprofits in expanding their reach, strengthening their brand, and amplifying their impact in ways that align with their missions and make marketing more meaningful.
Because when businesses are a force for good, they don’t just create profits — they create change.

Hannah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Mane Impact is a values-driven marketing and design agency based in Nashville, TN. We partner with values-driven brands to build a better tomorrow through branding, website development, and marketing strategy that moves people from awareness to action.
We help nonprofits and businesses clarify their message, optimize their digital presence, and create consistent marketing systems that drive results. Our goal is to take marketing, branding, and website design off their plates so our clients can focus on making a difference.
What sets us apart is our belief that effective marketing can be values-driven, transparent, and sustainable. We take a strategy-first, empathy-led approach that’s grounded in data, elevated by creativity, and always aligned with your mission. We see branding, websites, and marketing as interdependent tools to amplify impact.
We’re always looking to iterate and improve on our own efforts to better serve our clients and the planet. I’m proud of the trust we’ve built with our clients over the years and the results we’ve helped them achieve. Impact looks different for each of them — whether that’s creating a brand that reflects their values, optimizing a website to boost traffic and SEO, or empowering them with a marketing strategy that converts — and we love helping them dream bigger and bring that vision to life.
At the end of the day, Mane Impact exists to amplify good work. If you’re a values-driven brand that wants to strategically and sustainably grow, we’d love to support you.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
From the beginning, the way we’ve grown has been by delivering high-quality work that drives the results our clients are looking for. That might sound simple, but it’s truly been foundational. Because clients see real impact from our work, we not only have long-term partnerships but also a strong referral base. Many of our best clients started as one-time or short-term projects that evolved into ongoing collaborations because they trusted our process and saw the value we brought to the table.
Beyond the work itself, I believe that how we work with clients also makes a difference. All of our services are rooted in empathy, strategy, and collaboration. We don’t provide “off-the-shelf” packages because every client’s needs are unique. We listen, ask the right questions, and offer bespoke strategies and solutions that align with each client’s mission and goals. That kind of thoughtful partnership builds trust and helps us consistently deliver what clients are actually looking for: clarity, momentum, and meaningful results.
