We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Massive Trackz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Massive below.
Hi Massive, thanks for joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My entire family has been super supportive of me and my music. None more than my parents for sure. They’d both encourage me to keep perusing my dreams and give me advice in anyway they could. My dad is probably my biggest supporter, he’s also a musician and was the one who initially introduced me to the idea of creating music and learning FL Studio when I expressed interest as a teen. He’s always been a fan and shown me that I can have a future in music and art in general if I set my mind to it. Both my parents worked hard to give me all the opportunities possible for me to thrive and I love them endlessly for that
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and raised in Colorado Springs, I grew up on a steady mix of early 2000s hip hop, reggaetón, and hard rock—anything with heavy drums and a solid groove had me hooked. As a kid, I was constantly itching to create, but nothing hit quite like music. I remember wanting to blast the sounds I imagined in my head through some loud speakers and once I got my hands on music production software in high school, I never looked back.
Starting with rap and reggaetón beats, I eventually found my way into the darker, heavier sounds of dubstep and electronic music. That fusion of massive, aggressive tones with danceable rhythms is what defines my style today. Mid-way through my journey I got into and ended up winning some producer and DJ battles which pushed my dedication to music even further. That’s led to a few of my tracks releasing on music labels along with local shows and major festival opportunities opening up for me more recently. Even after a decade plus, I’m still just getting started. I’m always trying to top what I’ve done before and looking forward to wherever the journey takes me
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me the most rewarding part of being an artist is being able to create in general. Having the will and ability to materialize my ideas into reality is the shit : )
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
One of my goals is to master getting my ideas out so clearly and efficiently that I can create an atmosphere unique to me that people can experience and explore for themselves. Something that combines music and visual art to create something beyond the two alone.
