Today we’d like to introduce you to Krista Landis.

Hi Krista, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

I’ve always dreamed of traveling the world, exploring the natural wonders around the planet, observing unique architecture and discovering the hidden gems each location has to offer. As a young girl I would daydream about visiting far off lands, wandering through fairytalesque locations and spending lazy afternoons in dreamy destinations. Growing up I was given multiple opportunities to travel and experience life outside of my small town. Multiple European countries, Mexico and several provinces in Canada were some of the first destinations I visited outside of the US; each provided unique adventures and insights to other parts of the world that captivated me, captured my attention and stole pieces of my heart.

As an adult I continued to travel as often as I could, however being a young mother of 2 often prevented me from traveling as much as I would have liked but we still had plenty of adventures together. All throughout their childhood I planned family adventures across our home state of Oregon and we traveled to 21 US states as a family. Now that my children are grown I’ve had the opportunity to start traveling even more with my spouse, girlfirends & continue to travel as a family.

For as long as I can remember I’ve been the gal everyone messages & asks their questions about travel, recommendations of locations, the best destinations and questions about our itinerary. I love sharing little tidbits about our travels, funny stories and quips about our adventures and providing tips and insights to help others have the best trip possible. After years of being the go to gal for all things travel I began combining my stories, tips, journals and info about travel planning and started a blog/website so I could direct people to the site when they asked for my tips. Over the past year I’ve grown the site to showcase multiple itineraries available for purchase, dozens of posts to inspire exploring new destinations, tons of tips and travel journal entries and I’m always adding new itineraries to the site.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

There’s definitely been bumps along the way and several obstacles to overcome but all the best stories begin with climbing over the hurdles in our path to achieve our dreams, expand horizons and experience the richest personal growth. Over the years I’ve learned a lot about the things I enjoy most, the things that are worthy of my focus, energy & time and what I truly want to invest myself in. I’ve gleaned a lot of insights and knowledge from the trials I’ve had to work through and overcome. Gained life experience and wisdom through trial & error and first hand experiences that I enjoy passing along to others. In hopes that they will benefit from my insights and knowledge.

One of the biggest lessons has been finding out my strenghths and weaknesses, learning how to apply them and how to stretch into the territiories that are my weaker spots and begin to develop strength in those areas.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?

Primarily my content is focused on dreamy travel destinations, unique hidden gems, travel adventures and lifestyle content/blog posts, and travel itineraries. I periodically share about brands, hotels and travel partners I frequently use & have partnered with to bring awareness of the amazing brands I love and inform my audiences about the unique travel finds I’ve discovered.

I’m a type A personality who loves to plan and organize events, activities and itineraries. On my page you can expect to find multiple insights to travel, event, party planning and travel inspiration as well as complete itineraries for purchase. I love to share about all the experiences and adventures I’ve been fortunate to enjoy as well as the mishaps and travel tips so that you’re able to factor in those insights and adjust your travels if needed.

Over the years I’ve helped hundreds of people plan their dream vacation by providing useful tips, recommendations, travel insights and provided a new perspective to aid in planning their perfect trip. It really is a joy to hear that someone’s trip was smooth and went off without a hitch because they utilized my planning tips, organization of their itinerary or added in some of my recommendations and those were the highlights. I love chatting with them about the highs of their travel and learning about the funny stories and adventures they had. It’s especially fun to hear from those who’ve used my itineraries and absolutely loved the experience. That all the tips helped them to organize a relaxing & stress free trip because they knew what to expect ahead of time and could enjoy their trip even more thanks to my tips, insights, planning and researching ahead.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?

I’m not really a believer in “luck” necessarily, but I have experienced numerous highs and numerous lows in my life and I know without a shadow of a doubt that the reason I overcame the lows was due to my strong faith that carried me through the rough times. As a survivor of domestic abuse/violence, a very toxic relationship and abandonment I know God is the only reason I got through some of the most difficult trials in my life.

Those experiences shaped and molded me into who I am today and are part of the reason why I’m not afraid to take risks or a leap of faith into uncharted territories. The lessons I’ve learned, personal growth I’ve experienced, life events and traumas I’ve been through have all taught me how to be resilient, to grow, how to lean into my faith, my closest family, friends and support network to provide support needed during the tough times and remind me that I am capable of more than I realize. Each of those tests have become part of my testimony and propelled me forward towards greater things. Part of my journey has included overcoming the traumas that I endured, the losses, rejection, betrayals and loss of everything that I once relied on. I had to start over from scratch as a 30 year old, single mother of 2 (age 7 & 4) beautiful children. That period of my life tested and tried me in ways I’ll never fully get over and never forget, but it taught me how strong I really am, to keep reaching towards my dreams, to get out and explore and make memories, to make the most of each moment, savor all the good & positives in my life, cherish each day with my loved ones, to always believe and hope for the best and to never give up!

This is what I strive to share with my audience, my love for exploring, seeing the world, having new adventures and experiences and filling life with unforgettable memories with loved ones is so fulfilling and I want to encourage everyone to experience the joy of creating memories they’ll treasure for the rest of their lives.
