Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaclyn, Carly Martin, Bitters.
Hi Jaclyn, Carly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
KalloMed Aesthetics was born out of a shared dream between myself and my co-founder. We both come from a background in hospital medicine and found that we had a deep passion for procedural skills, anatomy, and regenerative medicine. Our late-night conversations revolved around the idea of creating a practice that combined our medical expertise with a patient-centered approach to aesthetics. We wanted to build a space where people could come to not only enhance their appearance but also feel educated, empowered, and confident in the process.
What really motivated us was the realization that the aesthetic model we envisioned — one that focused on natural results and a truly personalized approach — wasn’t well represented in our community. We knew there was a gap in the market for a practice that prioritized education-driven care, where patients would feel safe, heard, and respected throughout their entire experience.
Starting a business wasn’t easy, and we definitely took a leap of faith. But in a short time, what began as a dream has grown into a thriving practice. We’ve poured our hearts and souls into KalloMed, and through it all, we’ve stayed true to our core values of authenticity, individualized care, and maintaining a natural aesthetic. Our growth is a testament to the trust our patients place in us, and we are so proud of the community we’ve built here in Pittsburgh. We’ve worked hard to create a space where patients feel comfortable, supported, and confident, knowing that every treatment is tailored to their unique needs.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been far from smooth. In many ways, we’ve sold our souls to this business. Nothing about starting and growing KalloMed came without hard work, resilience, and significant sacrifices. We’ve given up a lot along the way — our time, financial investments, our work-life balance, and even time with family during holidays and special events. Those were the kinds of sacrifices we had to make to build something we truly believed in.
But despite the challenges, seeing the practice flourish and knowing we’ve built something meaningful makes it all worth it. You truly get back what you put in. There were so many moments when I questioned myself, wondering if this was the right decision or if we were on the right path. But deep down, I knew it was. Even in the toughest times, when things felt uncertain, we kept pushing forward because we believed in the bigger picture.
Building KalloMed has been a journey of growth — both professionally and personally. And while it hasn’t been easy, every challenge has helped shape the practice we are today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about KalloMed Aesthetics?
At KalloMed Aesthetics, we are a patient-centered medical aesthetics practice, founded on the belief that beauty should be natural, individual, and rooted in education. We specialize in a range of services that blend cutting-edge, regenerative aesthetic treatments with a focus on enhancing, rather than changing, one’s natural features. From Botox and dermal fillers to skin rejuvenation therapies, our goal is to provide results that look effortlessly beautiful, never overdone.
What truly sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to a natural aesthetic. We’re known for our ability to enhance natural beauty while preserving facial harmony — meaning our patients leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, not altered or over-treated. Every patient is unique, and our approach is entirely customized to their individual needs. We take the time to educate each person about the treatments we recommend, ensuring they feel informed and empowered at every step.
One of the things I’m most proud of is our patient relationships. It’s not just about the treatments we offer; it’s about the trust we build and the connections we create. Our patients return to us not only because they’re happy with the results but because they feel valued and understood. That’s something that sets us apart in an industry where patient care can sometimes feel rushed or impersonal. We’ve created an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and supported.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I love that I’m able to provide a service that has such a personal, human element. It’s the conversations, the shared moments of joy when someone sees their results, and the lasting relationships that continue to grow over time. That’s what makes this work so meaningful for me. It’s not just about treating someone; it’s about connecting with them on a deeper level and making a positive impact on their lives.
