Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Hall.
Hi Kendra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been a high achiever—honor roll student, strong writer, raised by two loving parents who gave me discipline, structure, and belief in my potential. But at 13, I made a decision that changed everything. I became pregnant. At 14, I was a mother. What followed were years marked by instability, housing insecurity, and adult responsibilities I wasn’t ready for.
There was no overnight fix. My growth came slowly—through self-reflection, accountability, faith, and a steady refusal to give up. I didn’t have a map, but I knew my life still held meaning. I was determined to build something with what I had left.
That conviction led me to create Jewelz Foundation Inc., a nonprofit focused on youth development through emotional wellness, entrepreneurship, and leadership. I also run Droppin Jewelz LLC, where I’ve authored books like Droppin’ Jewelz, Keeping Your Vibes High, and Workout with Kendra, and guided men and women across the country in writing and publishing their own.
One of my proudest endeavors is Survivor’s Jewelz—a digital series and storytelling platform that showcases the journeys of those who’ve lived through deeply personal challenges. These are honest conversations about what it takes to rebuild after loss, betrayal, hardship, or trauma. It’s not just about surviving—it’s about how people reclaim their voices and choose to move forward with clarity and purpose.
What sets my work apart is that it comes from lived experience, not theory. I’ve faced consequences, felt the weight of my own decisions, and still chose to show up. That’s why I lead with transparency, depth, and a deep commitment to helping others rise—not by pretending it’s easy, but by showing that it’s possible.
This isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. Every project I touch is a reflection of that truth.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. The road has been rough, and I’ve felt every bump along the way. Becoming a mother at 14, navigating homelessness, and rebuilding my life with limited support wasn’t just difficult—it was a daily fight to survive, then later, to rebuild with purpose. And even as I stepped into leadership, the challenges didn’t stop.
Launching a nonprofit without funding, wearing every hat in my business, and carrying the emotional weight of the work while still healing myself—it’s been exhausting at times. There have been moments I wanted to quit. Moments I questioned if any of it was worth it.
But I kept going. And while the road hasn’t been smooth, it’s been honest. Every setback sharpened my focus. Every struggle strengthened my resolve. That’s what built me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a writer, speaker, founder, and builder of things that matter. I lead Jewelz Foundation Inc., a nonprofit focused on youth development, mental wellness, and leadership training for teens. I also run Droppin Jewelz LLC, where I help people turn their stories and ideas into powerful books that create real impact. Whether I’m writing for others, mentoring young people, or creating healing spaces through programs like Survivor’s Jewelz, my work is rooted in one thing: truth that transforms.
I specialize in bridging purpose and strategy—taking lived experience and turning it into something that serves others. I’m known for my bold, faith-led voice, and my ability to speak into hard places without dressing them up. I’ve written multiple books, helped other people bring their stories to life, and built platforms that give voice to those who’ve survived what once tried to silence them.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just talk about purpose—I’ve lived the process of rebuilding mine. I don’t create from theory. I create from experience, and I carry both the weight and wisdom of that with me in everything I do. I’m most proud of the people my work has reached—the teen who felt seen for the first time, the woman who finally told her story, the reader who decided to keep going. That’s the fruit. That’s the win.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
None. I was raised by two loving, grounded parents who gave me a solid foundation. But at 13, I made a life-altering decision and became a mother at 14. The consequences that followed—homelessness, instability, and years of rebuilding—weren’t the result of bad luck. They were outcomes of my own choices, and I take full responsibility for them.
What I’ve built since then didn’t come from good luck either. God didn’t spare me from hard seasons, but He was present through every one—giving me strength, clarity, and the discipline to create something lasting. My life changed not because of chance, but because I made the decision to grow.
That’s what led me to start Jewelz Foundation Inc., write Droppin’ Jewelz, and launch platforms like Survivor’s Jewelz. These weren’t lucky breaks. They were intentional moves rooted in purpose, fueled by faith, and guided by obedience.
So no—luck didn’t get me here. Growth did. Grace did. Hard work and accountability did. And everything I’ve created stands as proof of that.
