Today we’d like to introduce you to Gerald Roberts.
Gerald, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It started in high school. I was playing video games, started learning about web building and started as a audio engineer and content manager for my church.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, my heart, health and haters.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have monetized my hobbies (writing, playing games, podcasting). After being very opinionated and discussing various topics that include wrestling, politics, pop culture, current events, etc I started a podcast and a blog. With that podcast I started networking with other podcasts and podcasters and eventually my radio station SGP Radio and its supplementary blog. Streaming gameplay on YouTube and networking with other gamers I am able to earn revenue that is both supplementary and passive. All of which I do is predicated on the interaction afforded by the internet, compound that with networking with contemporaries in a specific field (gaming, blog writing, podcasting) you can retain and build a fanbase.
I am most proud of how far things have come and evolved.
My work doesn’t feel like work. I was never a 9-5 person. So instead of finding a career a created one for myself.
