We recently connected with Angel Smalls and have shared our conversation below.
Angel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?
When dealing with everyday life and individuals it is important to take into consideration others and how they may be feeling. This is the first step in the business world that can help lead to your success, this allows individuals to know that you are not only in it for the money but also for their satisfaction. When my customers approach my entrance I make sure that they are greeted and feel welcomed, this help them begin to feel relaxed. While they are having the experience of admiring the items I kindly asked if there is anything you can help with to let them know that they are not being ignored. Its ok to always share a smile and even if they don’t purchase anything still let them know they are appreciated and ask for any suggestions of what they would like to see you have on hand . I always check back in with the customer if I haven’t seen them in awhile at my store .
I always live by the motto My Success Is My Responsibility.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My passion is basically to see everyone smile. In the early 2000’s I would sit around and make gold beaded jewelry as this was the hype back then and I loved taking time to just sit, relax and focus on something positive which was the results of seeing how happy my customers were to receive their item. in 2018 I decided to become an Independent Paparazzi Consultant which meant I sold lead and nickel free jewelry for a set price of $5.00 each piece and the larger pieces for $25.00 in which I did for 5 years . In 2023 I decided to take my business into a building where I was renting a suite , upon arriving I was reminded that I wasn’t allowed to sell anything except Paparazzi as that was against policies. I wanted to expand my business because I had more talent and skills to make other items which included customizations so I discontinued with Paparazzi which allowed me to see many more smiles . I began to see many smiles coming my way as I was able purchase items that were appealing to my customers as well as price them reasonably. Yes $5.00 wasn’t bad however I took into consideration the person that really wanted that item but fell short I didn’t have to worry about the frustration or look on their face because they didn’t get it.
I am so proud of the opportunity I have to give so many individuals to enjoy what they came in to purchase . I customize everything differently and with love and passion and it shows . I love doing what I do and seeing the effects it has on others . AngelsGlitzNGlam has its uniqueness that is unmatched .
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I found and built my clientele and audience through word of mouth meaning others telling about their experience they have had with my business. I gain a lot of my customers from going live on Facebook everyday at the same time daily this showed consistency within my business. Social media is a big help.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I have had moments where I had to allow resilience to come into play within my business. I was in a suite for 2 years and with a short notice of 4 days I had to relocate. I was shocked yet surprised and didn’t know which way to turn . I thought about the idea of giving up and then I reconsidered because I reminded myself that failure is not an option and I thought about the disappointment it would cause upon my customers . I created an online store and is still currently running it until I relocate in a building in the first part of May .
