Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rina Palma. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rina, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success, for me, is not just about material achievements or accolades—it’s about having peace of mind, the time to truly enjoy life, and the ability to complete my goals in a timely and meaningful way. It’s about feeling fulfilled, not overwhelmed. Being able to breathe deeply, knowing I’m moving forward at a pace that respects both my ambition and my well-being.
One moment that really shaped this perspective happened a few years ago. I was working tirelessly on a big project—putting in long hours, constantly chasing perfection. When it finally wrapped up, I realized I hadn’t really lived during that time. I missed out on family moments, I was mentally drained, and although I reached my goal, it didn’t feel like success.
Not long after, I took a step back and started managing my time more intentionally. I set clear boundaries, broke down my goals into manageable pieces, and made sure I left room for rest and reflection. The peace I felt from balancing my life with purpose and calmness was more powerful than any single achievement.
Now, whenever I complete a goal without burning out—when I can look around and still feel joy, connection, and peace—I know I’m successful.
Rina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Since I was a young girl, I knew I was meant to be in a creative field. Fashion, in particular, became my passion thanks to the elegant influence of my grandmother. Her timeless sense of style lit a spark in me. I remember staying up late watching runway shows on “Fashion Television” on the E! Network—completely mesmerized by the idea that fashion could be more than just clothing; it could be a career, an art form, a way to tell a story.
I used to sketch formal gowns in my bedroom and even drape dresses using old sheets—whatever I could get my hands on. That passion followed me into adulthood, supported by my incredible parents who encouraged me to pursue Fashion Design in college. I went on to earn my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design, and with that foundation, I built a brand that’s entirely about intention.
Today, I specialize in one-of-a-kind, made-to-measure pieces. My clients usually come to me with a specific idea or vision, and together we bring it to life. I take the time to get to know each person—what they love, what they don’t, and how they want to feel in their garment. This collaboration ensures that every piece is not only custom-made but deeply personal.
The moments I’m most proud of are when I deliver a garment that was worn for a milestone—a wedding, a gala, a birthday, or another unforgettable occasion. Knowing that my work played a role in their special moment is the most fulfilling reward.
What I want potential clients, to know is this: every detail in my designs has intention. Every stitch, every fabric choice, every silhouette—it’s all created with purpose, guided by a mix of artistic vision and emotional connection.
That, to me, is success—peace in the process, pride in the work, and joy in the impact.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part of my journey is being able to do what I love—creating meaningful garments that reflect both my vision and my client’s story. Every piece I design is a blend of my artistic perspective and the unique essence of the person wearing it. It’s not just about fashion; it’s about crafting a moment, a feeling, and a memory. Knowing that something I created becomes part of someone’s special occasion—that it holds sentimental value—is what makes this work so deeply fulfilling.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
At the heart of my creative journey is a mission to celebrate individuality through design. I believe that fashion should not only be beautiful but also personal and meaningful. My goal is to create garments that make my clients feel seen, confident, and uniquely themselves—pieces that tell a story and hold emotional value.
Ultimately, my mission is to blend art and emotion in wearable form, leaving a lasting impression on the people who wear my work and the moments they wear it for.
