At the time, Chad worked in importing, and Laurie worked in commercial real estate at Westfield Shopping Centers. Chad struggled to find a high-quality sock that would keep his feet dry and stay up throughout the day. Rather than settle for subpar options, they decided to create the perfect sock themselves. In 2015, Modern Envy Apparel was born.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
One of the pivotal moments in Modern Envy Apparel’s journey was our participation in the Minnesota State Fair. As a brand committed to quality and community engagement, we saw the fair as the perfect opportunity to introduce our products to a larger audience. With thousands of attendees each day, we knew it was the ultimate platform to showcase our socks and apparel, interact with customers in real-time, and solidify our presence in the market.
