Alright, Andri thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Any thoughts around creating more inclusive workplaces?

I think that the world of concert photography is unfortunately very much a man’s world. Women and non-binary people are often not presented with the same opportunities a man would receive. This is true whether or not the talent levels are equal to that of a man’s. We need to step back and take a look at who is sitting at the top and why the majority are white cisgender males. Provide women with more opportunities. Be inclusive in your hiring. Help others!

Andri, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am a professional concert photographer. I’ve been in the game for a while now, but I’m just now pushing past obstacles and moving up in the world. I enjoy shooting for all sizes of artists, at all types of venues. My favorite aspect of my job is creative editing. I enjoy adding color, lights, shapes, and any funky elements that spark my interest. I also love doing portraits and concept shoots. Anything you can imagine during a photoshoot is something I’m down to try.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

I definitely think most newcomers in this field have the mentality that you have to put up with anything and everything to get big. In some aspects I would agree, but mostly I don’t. Whether you’re new or experienced, you always deserve to be treated with respect. You don’t have to deal with people trying to use you because you’re new. Your art means something, and you should be treated like a human being.

How did you build your audience on social media?

Honestly, I just posted consistently. I would shoot as many concerts as I could and make sure to get the posts up in a timely manner. I made friends who were in similar situations as me and we grew together!
