Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Malik Pollard. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Malik , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I worked on has been MadFlavor TV.
I created MadFlavor TV as a means for actors, actresses, and models to get important exposure and build reels to further pursue their dreams in the arts.
The enterainment show was initially produced through public access and through building relationships in the industry, afforded opportunities for interviewing celebrities across the country. The show gave many people access and a way to get their foot in the door.

Malik , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Executive Producer Malik Pollard began working in Television and Film in 2000. After graduating from Morgan State University with a degree in Computer Information Systems, Malik was exposed to the world of television through a high school friend that had been doing editing and post production for BET Networks in Washington D.C. Malik suddenly developed a thirst for working behind the scenes in Television Production, but had no formal training. He began to do some research that led him to taking classes at a local Public Access Station in Arlington, Virginia; where he volunteered on many producers projects. It was at the station that Malik began to write and develop his own programming and started to produce his first Public Access show. Flavors “A Taste Of Comedy” (Malik Pollard’s first show) was a Mix of Music, Interviews, and Comedic sketches that featured a unique comedy troop of comedians from the local Washington D.C. comedy scene. One of these band of misfits included Gabrielle Dennis, a young Howard University Theater Major now featured as Janay on BETs The Game. As the show grew in popularity, it started to get more interviews and feature more music which prompted Malik Pollard to create a spin-off show Flavor’s Unplugged (later changed to Mad Flavor TV Show). Mad Flavor TV, has been on the air ever since (2006).
In 2016, Malik began working on more television and film projects, and has worked on more than 20 films on networks such as BET, BET+, AllBlk, Tubi, Starz, and more. Some of his most notable projects include: Feathers (Tubi), Conspirators (AllBlk), A Perfect Christmas (Starz), Deadly Getaway (BET), and others.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Integrity! Absolutely Integrity is how I built my business and the many relationships that I have been fortunate to have in entertainment.
My goal has always been to use this gift to help uplift not only myself, but others; And I have done so with being dependable, loyal, and operating with integrity.
I would also add PASSION! Television and Film is my passion, and I give 150% in every project I work on.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Joe Dyer is my business partner. Together, we own Motion Pixels Media. A full production company specializing in Television, Film, Event Videography, Graphics, and more.
Joe and I met nearly 20 years ago when he and his wife were the producers of Maryland Fashion Week. In those days, I would handle the videography for the Fashion Shows. We built a great working relationship, that blossomed into an even greater friendship.
