Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dan Margolin, MD. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Dr. Margolin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
Being in aesthetics, it is very important to educate patients about the aging process and why we do what we do.. The best advice I have ever given someone and everyone is to do something to help reverse the skin age quarterly. Once the correction phase is completed, It is important to do enhancement/maintenance treatments quarterly. Also, a good medical grade skin care regimen is responsible for 70-80% of long term outcomes./.

Dr. Margolin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have been a board certified, fully licensed surgeon since 2004. I decided to start a career in aesthetics 3 years ago for a better work/life balance for myself and to be more present for my kids. It was the greatest personal and professional decision I have ever made. I feel very lucky at 51 years old to have a new career that I am extremely passionate about that invigorates me. There are several things that set my practice, Physician Aesthetic Specialists, aside from other med spas. I am a surgeon/physician who is present at the med spa full time providing treatments. Most physicians are just a medical director or the owner. We provide concierge style service with exceptional direct communication. Every patient deserves to be heard so we provide free hour long consults to develop a long term treatment plan. We provide the most extensive range of services with the newest and most advanced technology to truly address any aging concern.
I am very proud of my role on the medical advisory board for Aesthetic Management Partners, which is an aesthetics company that sells devices and biologics products. I have the privilege of frequently traveling around the country to instruct at their courses of facial injections, speak, and do demo procedures on other med spa owners to help educqte them on the devices.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for building our clientele has been word of mouth and google reviews The only way to accomplish this is by providing exceptional personalized care above and beyond what anyone else is Kansas City is doing.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Ongoing education and research is certainly essential to success but what has really helped is has been staying on the forefront of new technology. It’s the willingness to invest in the future with the newest and best devices that can truly make a difference. Our NouvaDerm laser, for examaple, is the first 4th generation of laser resurfacing techology. We are able to provide an easier procedure, less downtime, and better results than anything else on the market.
