Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alejandra Soto. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alejandra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with talking about how you serve the underserved, because in our view this is one of the most important things the small business community does for society – by serving those who the giant corporations ignore, small business helps create a more inclusive and just world for all of us.
We run a 501(c)3 non profit cat rescue. Our mission is to help reduce the feral/stray cat overpopulation. We do TNR (trap neuter return) of community cats. Meaning they get spay/neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas and they get a small cut on the tip of their eat (ear tipped) to let people know that cat has been TNR and will no longer reproduce.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Everything started almost 9 yrs ago when we rescued a small kitten that was found in a back yard, wet and muddy and paralyzed. She became our reason why we started rescuing cats in need.

How did you build your audience on social media?
We are a very small rescue and we rely heavily on people’s donations, we established our social media one post at a time. We are still a very small rescue and our audience is very small but we have been blessed to have a good support system from our followers. It’s still a work in progress but little by little we’re getting there.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Rescue is very tiring and it’s a struggle. Every day we are ready to throw in the towel due to the amount of vet bills we have due to helping a Lot of special needs/sick cats. But just when we are ready to give up our rescue community show up and helps us pick ourselves up and continue to keep going and for that we are forever grateful.
