Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to EVA. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, EVA thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
One of the most meaningful projects for EVA was creating a song called “I Forgive You”. The depth of conversation about what forgiveness of oneself looks like, and how to put it into words was extraordinarily powerful and special. The song has taken on a life of its own and continues lead to us on a journey of healing and self reflection. We plan to release this song later this year, and pray it can help others find more peace within themselves through forgiveness.

EVA, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
EVA is a collaboration between multi-platinum songwriter and singer, Pam Sheyne (best known for co-writing Genie in A Bottle), and vocalist/pianist, Sarah Bethany, who graduated from the UMKC Conservatory of Music. EVA’s timeless songs with their classic melodies and thought-provoking lyrics delve deep into the human experience daring us to stop and be still. Their voices blend together to make a rich, unique, a cappella sound. Pam and Sarah met at the Hawai’i Songwriting Festival in 2017, where they performed on stage together. Post pandemic, they collaborated on their first original song, “I Forgive You”, and that inspired them to continue writing and create an artist project together. “We really connected on a spiritual level first and it was through the process of writing these songs together and those deep conversations about life, love, and our experiences as women and mothers that we really got to know each other better. Sarah and I have found a real sisterhood connection, and EVA has become a by-product of the beautiful friendship we formed over the past couple of years.” -Pam Sheyne

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
EVA’s mission is to share the most authentic expression we can; of love, peace, connection, gratitude, and the human experience through song.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect about being a music artist is that we are given the opportunity to use our voices as instruments to uplift the spirits of others, including ourselves. Music is an incredible gift and it is an honor to dedicate our lives to its creation.
