Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alina Ugas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
One of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken came during one of the most challenging periods of my life. I had spent over 33 years in healthcare management, building a stable career that I thought would carry me through to retirement. However, everything changed when I faced a series of life-altering events all at once. While I was out on disability recovering from health challenges, I was unexpectedly let go from my job. At the same time, I had just purchased a home, had recently become an empty nester after my children moved out, and was navigating life as a divorced woman. It felt like the ground had been pulled out from under me, and I was devastated.
Despite the overwhelming circumstances, I decided to take a leap of faith and turn this setback into an opportunity. Instead of dwelling on the loss, I chose to start my own private practice—a dream I had always envisioned but never pursued due to the comfort and security of my corporate career. It was a daunting risk, but I knew that if I didn’t take this chance, I might never realize my full potential. I poured myself into gaining as much knowledge and schooling as possible to prepare for this new chapter. I earned certifications in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Clinical Hypnotherapy, EFT, DISC and Recovery Coaching, among others, and developed innovative methods to help others overcome challenges and achieve holistic well-being.
The risk paid off in ways I could never have imagined. Starting my own practice not only allowed me to rebuild my career on my terms but also gave me the chance to help others transform their lives. It was through this experience that I founded 360 Mindset Group, where I now empower professionals to beat stress, prioritize self-care, and achieve sustainable success. Looking back, losing my job felt like the end of the world at the time, but it turned out to be the catalyst for discovering my true purpose and creating a life filled with meaning and impact. Taking that risk taught me that even in our darkest moments, there’s an opportunity for growth and transformation if we’re willing to embrace it.

Alina, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Alina J. Ugas, and I am the founder of 360 Mindset Group, a coaching and consulting firm dedicated to empowering individuals and teams to achieve holistic well-being and sustainable success through life transitions. My journey into this work stems from both professional expertise and personal transformation.
I spent over 33 years in healthcare management, navigating the complexities of high-stress environments while witnessing firsthand how stress, burnout, and lack of self-care impact individuals’ lives. However, my career took an unexpected turn when I was let go from my job while on disability. At the time, I had just purchased a home, become an empty nester, and was adjusting to life after divorce. It was one of the most challenging periods of my life, but it also became the catalyst for discovering my true purpose. Rather than let these circumstances define me, I took a leap of faith and started my own private practice. I immersed myself in gaining knowledge and certifications, including becoming a Licensed Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, and a National Certified Recovery Coach. These tools allowed me to create innovative programs that address the root causes of stress, burnout, and self-destructive behaviors. Today, through 360 Mindset Group, I provide tailored coaching sessions, workshops, retreats, and speaking engagements to help professionals cultivate resilience, manage stress effectively, and find balance in their personal and professional lives.
What sets me apart is my holistic approach to leadership and wellness. My signature program, “Bring Harmony to Your Hustle©,” is designed to help high-achieving professionals integrate wellness into their daily routines without guilt or compromise. I focus on equipping clients with practical tools for self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and work-life balance—skills that not only enhance their performance but also improve their overall quality of life. My work is deeply personal because I’ve walked the path of overcoming adversity myself. This relatability allows me to connect with clients on a profound level.
I am most proud of the impact my work has had on individuals who have gone from feeling overwhelmed and stuck to thriving both personally and professionally. Whether it’s helping a leader prevent burnout or guiding a team toward better communication and collaboration, every success story fuels my passion for what I do. For potential clients or followers, I want them to know that 360 Mindset Group is more than just a coaching service—it’s a movement toward creating sustainable success through self-care and empowerment. My mission is to help people rediscover their “why,” overcome challenges with confidence, and build lives they truly love while maintaining their mental and emotional well-being.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
A story that truly illustrates my resilience comes from a time when I decided to completely reinvent myself and my career. After spending decades in healthcare management, I realized that while I had achieved professional success, I wasn’t fully aligned with my purpose. I had always been passionate about helping others on a deeper level—beyond just operational systems and processes—but stepping away from a secure career to pursue something new felt daunting. Still, I knew that if I wanted to create a life of greater impact and fulfillment, I had to take the leap.
I started by investing in myself and my education, earning certifications in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Recovery Coaching. These tools allowed me to explore the connection between mental health, wellness, and leadership—areas I had always been drawn to but hadn’t yet fully embraced. Building a new business from the ground up was far from easy. There were moments of doubt, financial uncertainty, and fear of failure. But I stayed committed to my vision of creating a platform that would empower others to overcome challenges and achieve holistic success.
That decision to pivot not only transformed my career but also reshaped how I view resilience. It taught me that resilience isn’t just about weathering storms—it’s about having the courage to step into the unknown, trust in your abilities, and pursue what truly matters to you. Today, as the founder of 360 Mindset Group, I’m proud to help others navigate their own challenges and create lives filled with purpose and balance. This journey has shown me that resilience is often found in the moments when we choose growth over comfort and purpose over fear.

Have you ever had to pivot?
A time when I had to pivot came recently when I made the decision to step back from my business for three months to recalibrate, reassess, and reflect on what truly makes me happy. This pause wasn’t just about taking a break—it was a deliberate pivot to align my professional journey with my personal fulfillment and long-term vision.
For years, I had been deeply immersed in building and growing my business, pouring energy into creating value for my clients while navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship. However, I reached a point where I realized that continuing without reassessing my “Why” would lead to burnout and diminishing returns—not just for my business but for myself as a person.
During this time of stepping back, I’ve focused on answering critical questions: What aspects of my work brings me joy? What areas feel misaligned with my values or goals? How can I restructure my business to better serve both myself and my clients? This process has been transformative, allowing me to reconnect with the purpose behind why I started this journey in the first place.
This pivot is teaching me the importance of intentional pauses. It’s not about giving up; it’s about recalibrating to ensure that every step forward is meaningful and impactful. By stepping back, I am creating space for clarity, innovation, and a renewed sense of purpose that will empower me to relaunch with greater alignment and energy.
This experience has reinforced my belief that pivots are not failures—they are opportunities to grow, adapt, and craft a new chapter that feels authentic and fulfilling. It’s a lesson I now bring into my work with clients, helping them navigate their own transitions with courage and purpose. This insight inspired the creation of my new program, B.E.S.T.: Begin, Embrace, Strengthen, and Transform in your next chapter—designed to help individuals build resilience and confidence.
