We were lucky to catch up with Maxwell Fink recently and have shared our conversation below.

Maxwell, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

I knew I wanted to this professionally when I was around 15 and playing in a band. During that time I saw that if you work hard the opportunities start to present themselves fairly quick! during that time I was learning how to produce and a few year after that once I graduated high school I moved to la to run a studio and be a producer full time.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Maxwell Fink, I also go by MVXMILLI for my singer songwriter project, and I also go by VEX.S for my edm DJ project. I started in the music buisness at the age of 14 playin in local bands around Minneapolis Minnesota. During that time I honed my skills as a songwriter and a producer. Shortly after highschool I was tapped by the creative team SoLegendary to run a studio in Los Angeles, where I worked with rappers as their producer and engineer. While I was showing off demos I was told I should keep some of these songs for myself and become my own performing artist, which after a bit of time I eventually did, starting the MVXMILLI project. For a few years I was signed to the label V Records realsing hiphop songs from 2019-2021. In 2021 I met an artist by the name of DVRKO who produced the song “deeper” which got me further into writing and producing EDM. As of today im currently working on multiple projects for Future Youth Records, one if which records came out recently titled “a little sunshine” by Syante. I am also a writer for the grammy award winning writing team MOSADI as well as the Gold Teeth Brigade where I produce many of their EDM tracks under VEX.S. This year I also have a new project titled “It’s time to say goodbye” under the MVXMILLI name.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My current goal is to go out and perform as much as possible. Its one of my favorite this to do. Seeing peoples relate to the music and dancing to it is very fun!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I would say I built my audience on social media in multiple ways. The first being that I produce for many different artists across different genres, whicj brings a good amout of interest to my pages. The second would be going out and performing in person and plugging my sef constantly, it might seem annoying but it really helps. And lastly would be collaboration on many different tracks under my artist names MVXMILLI & VEX.S!
