Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chloe Bott. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chloe, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t change a thing about when I started my business. I was not the person I am today, nor was I ready to take on the responsibility of owning my own company. Every business I worked for along the way shaped me into who I am now. Each experience, every challenge, and all the lessons I learned refined not only my skills but also my understanding of what it means to be a leader—not just a boss.
I was raised by a strong, hardworking single mother who owned hair salons and later took on an incredibly demanding 24-hour caretaking position. Watching her navigate the highs and lows of running a business, while also working tirelessly to provide, shaped me in ways I didn’t even realize at the time. It taught me resilience, adaptability, and the power of perseverance. It also instilled in me a deep sense of compassion—for the people I work with, the clients I serve, and the team I lead.
I made a lot of people money, but more importantly, I used every opportunity to hone my craft, to absorb what worked, and to take note of what I would do differently when the time came to create something of my own. I learned firsthand how I would want to treat my staff—with respect, appreciation, and the recognition that their hard work is what makes any business thrive.
Looking back, I see that every long shift, every problem solved, and every late night spent perfecting the details led me to this moment. I turned my dedication to hospitality into a true calling, and I wouldn’t trade that journey for anything.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Born in the vibrant city of Tucson, Arizona, and raised amidst the lush landscapes of Washington, my journey in hospitality has been one of resilience, passion, and purpose. With over 20 years of experience, I started at just 15, scooping ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery, where I quickly stepped into a leadership role. That early introduction to service ignited something deep within me, an unshakable love for hospitality. From delis to bakeries, fine dining to bartending to fast-paced bartending, and the meticulous world of catering, I embraced every facet of the industry. Management came naturally to me many times, and with each role, I not only learned how to lead but how to truly take care of people. Despite my extensive hands-on experience, I saw the gap between knowledge gained in the field and formal education. In 2018, I made the decision to bridge that divide by enrolling in culinary school, where I gained real-world, hands-on training and earned a degree in hospitality management.
But my love for hospitality started long before my first job. I was raised by a strong, determined single mother who owned her own hair salons and later worked tirelessly in a 24-hour caretaking position. She taught me the value of resilience, hard work, and the importance of making people feel seen and cared for. Alongside her, I had the privilege of being raised by an incredible group of strong women, my aunts, who had all overcome unimaginable childhood hardships and still rose above it all. Their strength, perseverance, and ability to rebuild their lives taught me what it means to stand tall in the face of adversity. Watching these women turn struggle into success and heartbreak into healing shaped me into the person I am today. It also instilled in me a deep sense of compassion, an unwavering work ethic, and a drive to create beauty and joy in every space I touch.
Coalescence was born from that same passion, experience, and deep understanding of what makes an event truly extraordinary. We are more than just event coordinators—we are the ones who fill the gaps, ease the stress, and manage all the moving parts so our clients don’t have to. Whether it is a wedding, anniversary, birthday or a celebration of life, a formal dinner party, our goal is simple: to bring each client’s vision to life while allowing them to be fully present in their special moments. From setting up the tiniest details to ensuring flawless execution, we handle it all. Clients provide the ideas and the products, and we bring the expertise, creativity, and heart. With customizable packages tailored to each event’s needs, we ensure that when the last guest leaves, all that is left to do is relax and savor the memories made.
In addition to event coordination, my extensive background in culinary arts allows us to offer chef services and food preparation as part of our service offerings. Whether it is curating a delicious meal, an appetizer spread, assisting with bar and beverage management, or overseeing food service logistics, we ensure that every culinary detail aligns seamlessly with the event. From intimate dinner parties to large-scale celebrations, our expertise in food management guarantees that guests experience not only a beautifully orchestrated event but also impeccable food service.
At Coalescence, we specialize in coordinating and managing weddings, anniversaries, bridal and baby showers, birthday parties, corporate and private events, and celebrations of life. Every event is different, just like every client, and we take pride in crafting experiences that feel as unique as the people they celebrate. What sets us apart is not just our experience but our commitment to connection. We don’t just plan events, we create meaningful experiences with warmth, intention, and meticulous care.
I am most proud of the way Coalescence allows me to take everything I have learned-the resilience my mother and aunts instilled in me, the skills I honed in the hospitality industry, and the deep passion I have for people-and turn it into something that makes a difference. Whether it is ensuring a bride has a stress-free wedding day, helping a family celebrate a milestone, or handling every detail so a grieving family can focus on love and remembrance, my work is about more than events. It is about people, emotions, and moments that truly matter. I built Coalescence to be a company that does more than coordinate- it exists to create, support, and transform celebrations into unforgettable experiences.
Coalescence is the seamless blending of individual elements into a unified and harmonious whole. It represents the coming together of different pieces- ideas, details, and people-to create something greater than the sum of its parts. In the world of events, this means orchestrating every moving piece with precision, ensuring that every detail, no matter how small, contributes to a beautifully cohesive experience. It’s about connection, synergy, and the art of transforming scattered components into a seamless, memorable occasion.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I had always planned on starting my own business after gaining years of experience in the events industry, often juggling up to three jobs at a time, while also taking on gig work on the side. I worked on everything from holiday parties to weddings for friends, learning the ins and outs of event coordination. When the time finally came to take the leap and turn my passion into a business, I reached out to a friend from culinary school for advice and to let her know what my plan was. Without hesitation, she offered to help me get started. I had originally planned on purchasing tools and equipment one job at a time, but my friend Koriander wanted to ensure I started with my best foot forward. She generously supplied seed money, allowing me to purchase all the necessary subscriptions and tools upfront. This support gave me the confidence and expertise I needed to enter the business prepared and ready to offer top-notch service.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn was the need to control every aspect of my life and business. For a long time, I believed that I had to constantly push and plan, making sure every detail was in my hands. But through time and experience, I learned to trust the universe and divine timing. There was a moment when I realized not everything was in my control, and sometimes the best things come when they’re meant to, not when I think they should. It was a hard lesson, but trusting that things would work out in their own time gave me a new sense of peace and confidence in my journey.
