We were lucky to catch up with Fedoria Rugless recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Fedoria thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.

My parents ensured that I had a very structured upbringing.
I was initially homeschooled, and then attended private schools.
Started playing an instrument at the age of 3.
Was not exposed to a lot of television.
Became an avid reader.
Traveled all over the country.
Early lessons on finance and savings.
Involved in extracurricular activities.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My company is called Holistic Harmony Inc. I developed my business by deciding to blend and merge a lot of things that I was doing outside of my day job, under one umbrella. I had my hands in a lot of different aspects that I excelled at and decided that I should begin to formally offer my services. I provide services that help organizations, entrepreneurs, and artists build meaningful experiences. My company specializes in Consultation, Event Planning & Management, Production, Musicianship, Grant Writing & Proposals, Health & Wellness. When working with various clients the process initially starts with a consultation, with me immersing myself in their vision and goals, and working closely to develop something that reflect their desires and aligns with the creative vision. Event planning, production, and design are probably one of my favorite aspects of my business. I produce innovative event design and masterful event management for events ranging from social, corporate, public, church, and school events, to weddings and parties. The interior design and decor side allows me to do custom remodeling and creating of functional spaces, along with the furnishing and adorning of a space with decorative elements. Now music is my passion! I’ve been doing music all of my life, from playing to singing. Within the music space I offer Individual piano and theory instruction, from beginner to advanced for all ages. I also do artist management within entails talent oversight, administration, artistic direction, booking, and development of long-term strategy. My background and training is in the healthcare arena, having my Ph.D. in Molecular Epidemiology, and I have a burden for all to have optimum health and wellness. I provide presentations, seminars, community outreach opportunities, and work within the public health space. I also assist clients with grants and proposals, and research projects.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

The best source of new clients for me has been word of mouth. I’ve learned that many times there’s only one degree of separation between individuals. A good word goes a long way. A lot of my clientele has come from people referring them to me. When I have delivered a good product or done a good job, it truly means a lot to people and they want to share the good news with others. Whenever there is mention of a need for services that I provide, I am among the first to be mentioned. Good quality work pays off!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

I did a lot of regional marketing, inclusive of Facebook ads. For certain events and promotions, I did scheduled posts and ads for specific time periods that would get the most traffic. I also posted content and pictures from every event I did. Clients I served also posted and tagged me in their content as well. Testimonials also were very helpful.
