Henrí, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump back to the first dollar you earned as a creative? What can you share with us about how it happened?

I had a crew Natural Elements and did a a ton of free work with them. Then I was approached to produce a new duo out of queens Capone n Noreaga and I got my first check for one of my creations.

Henrí, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am a native of St Lucia. Emigrated to the Bronx, New York in 1976. I was always into music. I pursued it as a passion and a business with the help of my business partner Vidal Goring. He invested his time money and his mom’s attic to practice my craft.
My proudest moment was seeing the guys I worked with elevate and get signed to a record company.. Also my work with some major artists: Jay z / Mary J Blige/ Ice T/ Jermaine Dupri just to name a few.
What I provide is the perfect musical Landscape for singing or rapping. And now I also do some video editing work as well, also a clothing brand

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

When I first went to play beats for Jay z and Rocafella at bassline. I brought a cd with about 33 beats. They picked 3 .but didn’t really follow up. Instead of getting upset , I asked to hear what they were looking for. I heard it then I returned and had success when they chose about 4 beats and some sales were made from said interaction.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?

For me being a creative is something you’re born with. It’s the thing that if you don’t do it you feel you might die. You think about it all the time whether iis music painting or any art.
