Lawrence, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Voyager Hot Sauce was birthed out of a passion for great fresh quality ingredients combined with a passion for fostering authentic connection. Growing up Hispanic, culture was driven with honoring generational heritage and traditions with family. Food made with love was a representation of showing care and deep connection for one another. I wanted to bring that same love and approach with hot sauce. It’s more than hot sauce to me, our bottle serves as a visual representation of fostering connection, family, quality and excellence in all we do. Encouraging one another to invite others around your table in genuineness in wanting to know who they are and their story. Enjoying a great meal and drink surrounded by loved ones with music playing in the background. We pride ourselves also in delivering the freshest hand picked ingredients in every small batch hot sauce we make. We use agave nectar as a sweetener as an ode to our family heritage from Jalisco, Mexico where the agave capital resides. We focus on flavor and a sweet heart for all to enjoy. Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Growing up Hispanic and in southern California, I was immersed in the culture. A deep love for my roots and heritage. In Hispanic culture, food is a resemblance of hard work, love and creativity. The sounds and the chaos of making a meal while the music playlist is in the background accompanying the meal creation. Family members spread about enjoying conversation while children are playing in the background. This is where I feel most at home. What brings me life. What fuels my passion to honor those who taught me to never lose sight of this in all I do, but instead foster the meaning behind it to bring others together in community and belonging. It’s an active way of showing love and service. Creativity in tapping into all senses through a pairing of taste, to smell, to music playlists and to drink all combined for an overall experience that all with remember and enjoy. All these examples is what bred and motivated me to deliver this in our approach in creating Voyager Hot Sauce.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

In all I do, I want to do everything with honesty and integrity. I want to others to see that in our content, branding and product. The story that drives us and shapes us. There are so many hot sauces out there, but I firmly believe in the power of story telling. What is the meaning and purpose behind our brand? What is the differentiation that drives customers to us? Having individuals purchase our hot sauce brings me immense joy because it is a representation in their belief in our mission and vision and what we stand for. It excites me and motivates me to keep going and strive for excellence in all we do, while never losing sight of what we stand for.

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?

I have always loved experimenting with food and pushing myself to try something knew in the kitchen and go for it. I remember experimenting with making my own hot sauce. Trying to combine everything I personally loved into a small batch to enjoy myself and share with friends and family. It turned out horrible. I persisted. I started to fine tune measurements of ingredients and evaluate the pros and cons to certain levels of spice and flavor. I also turned to friends and family for feedback. Taking that to heart. It never was intended to become what it was today and I owe it all to everyone who has supported me, believed in me, purchased a bottle and God for allowing me to have this as a creative outlet that drives my passion and values in people and hot sauce.
