Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ghadir Mkhail. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ghadir, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on thus far, is a series I have on my You tube channel/ Instagram called: “Interpret My Words”. It’s a series where my Luvaholics would read multiple poems of mine. Which ever poem resonates with them the most, they would read out loud and tell us how it may apply to their lives. The other part to this series, I love to challenge other artists to read my poems. Which ever one resonates with them, they would interpret it into their form of art. I have collaborated with two different painters, a make-up artist, etc..
Every episode/interpretation has touched my heart. It’s an honor for others to be a part of my project. It’s so interesting to learn their perception. Their perception creates a new form of art.
The series has paused for a little while, due to my poetry performance schedule. I look forward to working with others to continue this series in the near future.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Ghadir Mkhail (Said), 36, is a content creator originally from Jerusalem, Israel currently residing in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Ghadir has moved all of her life, giving her space to grow amongst all walks of life. One thing that has stuck with her since her childhood is wanting to make a difference. She did not know what her calling was until her obstacles opened her eyes to the world of expression. She began to share her thoughts online. That is where her business partner, Javaris Squire, took notice of something greater, calling her thoughts: poetry. He proposed the idea of featuring her poems onto his blog, Planetofthesanquon.com, every Friday. He then suggested she take it a step further and start her own blog. August of 2013, wordsbyladyg.com was born.
“A new blessing in my life has been revealed to me. This blessing is called wordsbyladyg.com . My very own website! I get ecstatic just thinking about it and where it can lead to. Unlike other sites, mine will give us all the opportunity to grow together in wisdom. Life teaches us a lot if we are willing to learn.
The main objective is to spread as much love as I possibly can and to express my thoughts through my writings and pictures. My vision for my site is to eventually turn it into a movement that may change lives for the better. The amount of chaos this misguided world possesses comes from the lack of love given and/or received. The four lettered word love is the exact potion to help heal wounds and open scars. Why not be a part of that movement?!”
Since that day, Ghadir has not looked back. Her accomplishments include, but are not limited to: 1 million loyal viewers (luvaholics are their names), performed spoken word poetry at numerous open mics/social justice events, at a celebrity chef’s book tour event, at a healthcare awareness event, at a memorial in the DMV area/Brooklyn (NY), is a co-host of the Awkward Minority Podcast, a member of the Talkinish podcast, put together a segment for a fashion show that was held at the University of Louisville, the Director of Marketing for Sanquon.com, collaborated with other artists where two of her poems were translated into two beautiful paintings, was featured in a mixtape, two of her poems have been published, she has hosted her own event in March of 2019, has collaborated with loveseamoss.com/shopluxeskincare.com by customizing two different body butters to reflect her poetry, has collaborated with etsy.com/shop/bearycandles by customizing two different candles to also reflect her poetry, she has many more projects coming soon.
Ghadir is hoping she will bring artists together to build within the community. Breaking barriers through poetry.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist/creative is knowing that there are limitless opportunities to being creative. It’s also really cool to witness others appreciate my poetry. I enjoy providing an open- dialogue discussion after receiving feedback. It’s rewarding in a sense where humans express their feelings freely in a safe space. In turn, we learn different perspectives.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to help others express themselves through poetry. When life wasn’t so kind to me, poetry saved my life. We live in a world where we tend to get lost in between the lines left unspoken. I want to bring those unspoken parts of us to life. Self-expression is important for our mind, body and soul.
