We were lucky to catch up with Alyssa Martinez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alyssa, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
The day I got my 1st client enrolled into my 90 day program was amazing and solidified my resolve to being a coach.
It was amazing for many reasons lol one I was on vacation when I had a strategy call with a potential client. Strategy calls are always free and we talk about client goals what they need or want and decide together if what I can offer and what they need to reach their goals align.
I scheduled during my vacation bc no big deal. I wasn’t expecting her to actually enroll because I hadn’t had any luck.
To my surprise at the end of the strategy call she said yes to the offer and enrolled right then and there!
When i got off the phone I quite literally cried! I now have my 1st paying client , I made $ WHILE ON VACATION and it felt soooo good!.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a women’s holistic health & empowerment coach and I work with women to improve their gut health, increase their energy through intuitive eating, breakthrough limiting beliefs and sabotage and get their confidence back.
Through 1-1 coaching I help women connect & understand their bodies, and learn to eat in a healthy, sustainable way that’s very much unique to them.
My 90-day Glowup and 8 week RESTORE Your Gut Health group program are the main programs i take my clients through and they all get amazing results.
Empowering women and helping them to transform their lives and become the best version of themselves is my mission in life. Radical self-acceptance is so important for transformation and I absolutely love what i do.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Many years before I became a coach i moved across the country to Nevada to get out of a really toxic relationship. I was at my LOWEST. I had unhealthy weight loss, I wasn’t eating, constant state of anxiety. It was bad. I packed up and left.
While I was there, I had very little $, was struggling, didn’t know anyone… i only had my dogs. So I started to control the only thing I could, since the rest of my life was spiraling, my health.
I just started working out every day.. hard- it seemed to get the aggression out.- then that made me start eating better .. eating again really lol but I put on healthy muscle and got my energy back bc I was feeling my body with more than wine and junk food.
Once that part of my health started to improve I started to do a little shadow work. I was Journaling, making vision boards, meditating, reading self help books, crying… A LOT, taking myself and my dogs for long walks in the park and sitting in the grass. Really just learning how to be alone and happy in my own thoughts again.
Then I came back home and rebuilt my entire life. After a few years covid hit, I lost all my clientele as an independent massage therapist and realized I need to shift. I knew I was good at helping people and I would get really excited when something I suggested actually helped them. I decided I wanted to help women do exactly what I did. So I got my certifications in health and life coaching and Holistic nutrition and the rest is history

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson I’ve had to learn is that when someone is ready to change… they will.
I had to learn that I AM ENOUGH and what I have to offer is of value. The clients that align with me and what I have to offer them will show up.
If they are not really ready to change they will come up with every excuse and nothing I can do or offer will convince them to themselves that they are worthy of the change.
