We were lucky to catch up with Christian Colon recently and have shared our conversation below.
Christian, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
My most meaningful project is the one that I’m currently working on finalizing,”A.L.O.N.E” it’s been over a year in the works, and I’ve constantly struggled in completing it and changed the track list numerous times, It’s been delayed, and I’ve even second guessed putting it out. Since it’s my first official project, I’ve let the pressure get to me, so In a way, I guess finally releasing it would show me that I’m still on the right track
Christian, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I got into music by chance, and fell in love, yeah I’d love to make a living off of it but my real goal is to inspire people to find their passion and chase it. I hate seeing when dreams die. Im most proud that I have a few fans that have stuck around since I first started recording music, fans that I’ve built a true connection with. The main thing I want people to know about me, is that I’m only beginning, and I’m excited to constantly challenge myself, so stick around!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Knowing that you can turn your pain into an outlet that so many relate to, and being able to inspire others to do the same. I used to be the type to blame the world and think I had it so horrible, then I realized how many people go through the same thing, I actually was relieved to know so many people related to lyrics that I wrote
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I wasn’t “born” a creative, it actually takes a lot out of me, but I have a deep love for music, and I was blessed to discover writing senior year, Before then I had no creative outlet, (How creative does Call Of Duty really get?)
The music is a Passion, and not all passions have to be “creative”. (This passion just tends to take a lot longer to pay than most others)
At the end of the day there’s ups and downs no matter what,.
No journey without a few struggles is worth it
