We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Aundre Christopher a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Aundre thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Honestly.. it would have to be building my podcast ( @fashionablylatethepodcast ) with my brother and host Ray ( @ray_alwayslate ).
This isn’t my first time trying to start a podcast, about 5 years ago I spent over 2 years of my time , money , ideas and ultimately wasted it. I’ve learned that it is very important to build something with someone who has the same vision. When everyone clicks and has the same end goal within projects it’s gonna go far.
When you have a true passion for the craft it’s a different feeling.
Aundre, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
First and foremost I’m a Father of 3 amazing children, I started as a model and tip toed around with creative direction but I fell in love with podcasts years ago.
I got started by believing in a vision I knew we could bring to life, when you have more people that doubt and wanna see something fail rather than succeed it lights a different kind of fire in you.
Our podcast is fashion, art, life, honestly a place that you can go and learn a few things from. We’re very transparent and mindful that not everyone thinks like us or has the same taste, but that’s why I believe we’re building something great for anyone and everyone.
If I could say one thing I’m most proud of at this moment is that we haven’t given up. Coming from a place where I know how it feels to try and fail already in this space, I’m excited to continue to watch our growth!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Watching your vision come to life in the way you imagined it to. As creatives a lot of us are perfectionist and we hold back a lot of art or creative ideas because of that.
So when you finally achieve that vision you had it’s the most amazing feeling.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Goal and mission is to be able to not have to work a 9-5 still because the podcast has grown to the vision I had from the start.
