Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Two 14. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Two, thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I was either 21 or 22 at the time. I asked myself what could I actually do to make a living for myself. What did I know how to do? What skill did I have that I could actually do. I didn’t want to end up homeless or a failure.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My ability to sing was discovered through copying songs my mom would play as a kid. Later down the line I visited a youth center in my community where I met CT Beats. CT taught me about keys, notes, runs, chest voice, head voice and all the technical things I didn’t know about music. That turned into a lot of creating audio art. Soon 2-3 records were being recorded daily. Rehearsals for small shows began to take place as well. My journey of having a professional music career had begun. What separates me from others is having heart as well as my patience, work ethic, listening and understanding. Lastly being a student of the game. People should be loving themselves first. Prayer works. Life only test you to make you stronger and smarter. Feeling good about self is important and relationships are everything. Rest is just as important as working. In whatever you do take the time you need.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Still wanting to be a solid provider for my family as well as a good example for young black youth are two things that keep me going forward.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The connections you gain through your art. The people you make feel like they aren’t alone. The lives you change. The people you help.
