Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Chrissy Janiga. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Chrissy, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
My journey is based on following my intuition, removing societal pressures, and living a soul-led life. In 2022, I decided to quit drinking alcohol. Once I committed to sobriety, I began to think about purpose and the woman I wanted to become. I had thoughts of writing a book. I had no author or writer experience, but I decided to write a children’s book, I learned about word count and the age to present my book. I’ve now written and published two children’s books. I recently wrote a nonfiction book, Soul-Led Sobriety.
Before removing alcohol, I played small. I didn’t take risks and often quit hard tasks. I’ve learned growth and healing take time. Throughout my sobriety journey, I’ve done a lot I never thought I would. I believe when you listen to your intuition and your heart, you’ll be led in the direction you’re meant to go on. Risk isn’t about perfection, but about doing what you meant to create and accomplish in your lifetime.

Chrissy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Chrissy. I’ve been a social worker for 16 years. In 2023, I founded my own LLC, Soulful and Sober, to support women on their journey of sobriety and spirituality. My journey is about finding myself, and I want others to live a life they love, and that doesn’t include alcohol. Through sobriety, I found healing and more purpose. I’m an author and have written two children’s books, Miranda Learns the Art of Not Fitting In and Hudson Learns the Art of Not Giving Up. My book, Soul-Led Sobriety, will be out this summer.
I got into opening my own business due to my own experience removing alcohol. It was deeply transformational. I worked on my life that alcohol blocked. The person I was meant to become. However, because I didn’t view myself as an “alcoholic,” I didn’t think I needed to get help. In 2022, I decided to take the leap to examine my relationship with alcohol finally. I help women not only stay sober but connect to their intuition and step into a soul-led life they love.
I have several ways people can connect with me. On all socials, I am @chrissyjaniga and www.chrissyjaniga.com. I also have a Podcast, Soulful and Sober.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
When I began my business, I had thoughts about not feeling worthy of getting what I wanted. I realized this issue began in my childhood and carried over into adulthood. Removing alcohol led to finding this out. I could then work on that I’m worthy of everything I want in life. I also had several limiting beliefs when I opened my business. I found out that I quit things I love because they were hard. Awareness was key with both of these concerns. Without awareness I couldn’t change.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
In 2024, I left my husband. Sobriety helped me stay resilient during this difficult time and pivot to design my dream life. I began writing my nonfiction book in November 2024.. My dream was to speak on stage in front of an audience. My book is expected to be released this summer. Writing was deeply healing during this difficult time.
