We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Shamirr Kennedy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Shamirr below.
Shamirr, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I hope to build a build a legacy of a collected group of culinary influenced individuals throughout the country. Allowing them to share their experiences, skills & techniques, cultures, and food.
Shamirr, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I Shamirr Kennedy, created the Chefs in America Project September 2022 via Instagram. Started as an chef appreciate page, reposting different chefs, restaurants, and all around culinary driven pages. My influence came from growing up as a child and receiving my first culinary job at my uncles restaurant located in Shamong, NJ, Christine’s King Fish. 2022-2023 we mainly focused on collecting a group of respectful chefs, restaurants, and culinary students. 2024 we wanted to being interviewing those collected. But instead we did something different. As we created a shared space for all culinary individuals, we decided to dedicate 2024 to just mainly help those individuals. With a wide range of chefs across the country we was able to help individuals with things such as website development, flyers, merchandise, and culinary networking, introducing chefs and cooks. As we don’t plan to rush the process we do plan to branch out into the military culinary world as well, come 2025.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The amount of amazing culinary information shared through our social media page never gets old. Learning new things day in and day out, whether it’s from home cooks or Stadium chefs, it’s always mind blowing with the time consumption and cooking skills.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Building our audience was very natural. We searched through major culinary groups that associated with a large group of chefs. Sharing and showing love, gradually gained more followers in support of those individuals who either followed our page or were influenced by our followers
