We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jae Chanel. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jae below.
Jae, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
Before I became anything or pursued my dreams, I was blessed to have amazing women pour into me. They taught me the importance of integrity, guarding my heart, and keeping God at the center of it all. These women saw something in me I couldn’t yet see in myself, and they believed in me more than I believed in me. They knew life was going to take off for me, but they also knew what comes with success, the challenges, the distractions, and the lessons that can either build you or break you.
Their kindness wasn’t just in their words, but in the way they nurtured my growth, like gardeners tending to a delicate seedling. They watered my garden of success with wisdom drawn from their own experiences, women who had weathered life’s storms, carried their scars with grace, and embraced the beauty of healing. They shared their pits so I wouldn’t fall into my own, offering me a foundation built on their strength.
The advice they gave me was simple yet profound. Integrity opens the door and keeps you in the room. Guarding your heart protects you from the darts that inevitably come with this territory. That wisdom meant everything to me. It came from a place of love and experience, and it planted seeds that I now see blooming in every area of my life.
I’ve listened, and now I’m applying their lessons to my career and lifestyle. Every day, I see the fruit of my labor, the harvest of their belief in me, and my willingness to trust their guidance. That kind of kindness, the kind that lifts you before you can stand on your own, is something I will carry with me forever.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
It’s an honor to share my journey with your readers. Writing has always been second nature to me. It started at my grandmother’s house on a typewriter and grew into something much greater, an outlet, a mission, and a way to create purpose out of pain. Becoming a teen mom and navigating real challenges taught me how to turn what I lived through into something that could uplift others.
My first stage play became Not A Victim, a project that mirrors parts of my own story and the stories of so many others. It speaks to survival, healing, and self-worth. The film is currently streaming on platforms like Amazon Prime, Roku, Tubi, and more.
Today, I run HeroJC Productions, where I lead with purpose through film, events, and innovation. That includes community-centered experiences like My Black Is Everything, which celebrates and uplifts youth, and the F.I.N.E. Moms Club, created to support and empower mothers through every season. I’m also the creator of the Get It Get It card game and game show, built to bring people together through fun, laughter, and connection across generations. You can find it at www.herojc.com/shop.
Everything I do is led with wisdom and spirit. Whether I’m telling a story on screen, building community through events, or curating joyful experiences, my focus is always to inspire others to live boldly, know their value, and walk fully in who they are.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Yes, the Bible has always been my foundation. It gives me clarity, direction, and strength in how I lead, create, and move through life.
Books like Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter taught me how to turn adversity into strategy. Think and Grow Rich and Rich Dad Poor Dad helped reshape how I view purpose, ownership, and wealth. Atomic Habits and The Miracle Morningshowed me the power of structure and consistency. The 48 Laws of Power gave me a stronger understanding of strategy and people.
I’m also an author of Goal Get It, a 31-day motivational read created to push people toward real growth and action. It’s for those ready to move with focus and intention, and it’s available now on Amazon: Goal Get It by Jae Chanel

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Yes. I wish I had known more about business structure, credit, and how to access funding early on. That knowledge would’ve saved time and helped me move more strategically.
Financial literacy plays a huge role in sustaining any creative vision. Once I learned where to find the right resources, everything shifted. Now I try to pass that knowledge on so others don’t have to figure it out the hard way.
