We recently connected with Mr. Laz P and have shared our conversation below.
Mr. Laz, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Looking back at the decisions you made early in your career, particularly whether to join a firm or start your own, do you feel you made the right choice for that stage of your career?
Starting out my latest venture in my professional life, I helped start a brand. So I would say it’s a little bit of both, I joined a company as well as I started one! I made this choice mainly because it was the opportunity I was creating and/or hoping for prior to that moment. It was definitely the right move at that time… looking back at those days, I was working a 9-to-5 job, as well as side-hustling on a similar project as the one I am on today, which allowed me to be here today. It took 5 years of side-hustling plus a 9-to-5 job before this opportunity presented itself. That includes lots of sacrifices, long nights, early mornings, and literally all the hard work you’ve heard it takes before succeeding at something, but that was only to start. Now I am in the first years of this journey and the hard work continues… just with more pressure, with doubts, with more risks, and more weight on your shoulders.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a young business-professional gentleman, who carries an extensive experience in industries like, luxury retail, fashion, and hospitality with a creative-business mindset. I started in the retail & fashion industry at a very young age, I was 17 when I landed my first official job at a local clothing store in my neighborhood. From there while creating relationships and exploring life, I jumped into the hospitality business working at different nightclubs at night, (as well as clothing stores during the day). This went on for a period of 5 years before I decided to focus on luxury fashion. As of today I serve my personal and corporate clients with a variety of services. I manage a fashion brand that tailors industry leaders from head-to-toes in every menswear category and I also consult for different brands and companies, by helping them grow and develop their business.
Today I feel most proud of being where I am, but most importantly, I feel more proud of my potentials in life. One thing that I have always carried with me and I would like others to know, mainly for inspiration is that; I have always believed in my potential, event when I didn’t see any result.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I have had to pivot multiple times in the past years, I think it is just part of business and life. Most people at some point in their lives will, professionally and personally. My most recent shaft in business was when the company that I worked with and had plans of growing and becoming a force in men’s fashion failed. Which at the same time put me in position to start the menswear brand I worked with today. As I like to think, everything happens for the good, even the bad. Today’s brand has a lot more potential, it’s better organized, maintain and has a lot more meaningful influential on the market. It has expanded more and we are doing bigger and better things. So at the end it all worked out.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
This is a question that excites me… growing my clientele there has been no specific strategy… at a personal level it all comes down to personality, reliability, professionalism, consistency, and transparency. If you add all of that together there is my strategy. Which at the same time it is not an strategy, it’s just being who I am and staying true-to-myself.
