ANMOL, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
The most significant risk I’ve taken was relocating twice across continents—first from India to London for university, and then making the even bolder move to America with essentially nothing but determination and a business plan.
After completing my studies in London, I felt strongly that America was where I needed to be to achieve my long-term goals. However, the path wasn’t straightforward. Without established connections, existing business operations, or substantial savings beyond what I’d earned through trading and investing, I faced a daunting challenge. To enter the country legally through an investment visa, I invested my entire life savings—over $1 million—to start a business in an industry completely foreign to me.
I launched an auto service franchise despite having no background in the automotive industry. My expertise was in trading and investing, but I committed to learning an entirely new business from the ground up. The stakes were incredibly high; if the venture failed, I would have depleted my life savings with nothing to show for it, potentially forcing me to abandon my American dream altogether.
The fears were multidimensional—financial ruin if the business failed, the anxiety of navigating a new country where I knew no one, and the steep learning curve of mastering an unfamiliar industry. Yet beneath these fears was an unwavering belief in myself and conviction that America was where I could truly thrive.
I landed in New York with virtually no money left in my pocket—everything had gone into the business. Within the first year, we employed over ten people and generated $1 million in sales. The auto franchise became not just viable but successful, despite my complete lack of prior experience in the field.
This risk created the foundation for me to eventually return to my passion for trading and investing. Since 2015, I’ve been running my own trading business alongside the auto service center, gradually transitioning back to my area of expertise while maintaining the successful business that brought me to America.
This experience taught me that with strong conviction and willingness to adapt, seemingly impossible goals become achievable. The risk I took wasn’t just about geographical relocation—it was about betting everything on my ability to succeed in unfamiliar territory because I believed so deeply in where that path could lead. That leap of faith has validated itself many times over in the opportunities it has created for me.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a professional trader, investor, and trading psychology expert who has taken an unconventional path to success in the financial markets. My journey began in 2010 at age 18, trading from my college dorm room while developing the skills that would later define my career. This early passion eventually led me to trade for a proprietary trading firm in New York City, where I worked my way up to become one of their top performers.
When the firm was acquired in 2015, I faced a pivotal decision: join the new company or venture out on my own. Having accumulated both capital and confidence from my trading success, I founded Live Traders, a comprehensive education and coaching platform designed to empower traders with the same strategies and psychological frameworks that drove my own success.
Today, my professional life encompasses three interconnected areas:
Active Trading and Investing: I continue to trade and invest my own capital in the stock market, maintaining an active presence in the markets that keeps my skills sharp and my insights current. Additionally, I’ve diversified into real estate, managing a portfolio of Airbnb properties and other real estate investments that complement my market activities.
Education and Coaching: Through Live Traders, I provide comprehensive education for both new and experienced traders. Our offerings include structured courses, daily newsletters with market insights, and most uniquely, a live trading community where members can watch me trade in real-time every day, participate in discussions, and receive immediate feedback in our chat rooms. We host multiple live events each year, creating opportunities for in-person learning and community building.
Trading Psychology Expertise: What truly sets me apart in the industry is my specialized focus on the psychological aspects of trading and investing. I’ve established myself as a leading expert in trading psychology and behavioral finance, speaking at hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, and financial conferences around the world. This unique specialization addresses what I believe is the most critical yet often overlooked aspect of trading success – the mental game.
What differentiates my approach is the integration of practical strategy with psychological mastery. While many trading educators focus exclusively on technical analysis or fundamental research, I’ve observed that psychological barriers are often what prevent talented traders from achieving consistent results. My methodology addresses both the technical “how-to” and the equally important mental discipline required for success in the markets.
The problems I solve for clients are multifaceted: I help inexperienced traders avoid costly early mistakes; I provide struggling traders with frameworks to overcome performance plateaus; and I offer experienced professionals techniques to maintain peak performance under pressure. By combining strategic knowledge with psychological insights, I address the complete spectrum of challenges traders face.
What I’m most proud of isn’t measured in personal trading profits, but in the success stories of my students. Thousands of traders have transformed their approach through our programs, with some going on to establish their own hedge funds. However, the achievements that resonate most deeply with me are from those who have used my teachings to replace their conventional jobs, achieve financial independence, and successfully trade from home on their own terms.
For anyone considering working with me or joining our community, I want you to know that my approach is grounded in authenticity and practical application. I continue to trade actively myself—I’m not just a teacher who has stepped away from the markets. This ongoing engagement ensures that my methods remain relevant and tested in real-time market conditions. Whether you’re just starting your trading journey or looking to elevate your existing practice, I’m committed to providing the technical knowledge, psychological tools, and supportive community that can help you become the trader you aspire to be.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe my reputation in the trading and investment community has been built on one fundamental principle: leading by example. In an industry often characterized by people who are eager to tell others what to do without demonstrating their own methods, I made a conscious decision to take a different approach.
The cornerstone of my credibility has been my willingness to trade live, in real-time, with complete transparency in front of my community. While many educators in this space sell courses or provide theoretical knowledge without showing their actual trading, I chose to put myself in the vulnerable position of executing trades publicly—showing both my successes and my mistakes as they happen.
This level of transparency creates an authentic learning environment where students don’t just hear what strategies might work; they watch me implement the very techniques I teach when real money is on the line and market conditions are unfolding unpredictably. There’s a profound difference between explaining a concept and demonstrating it under pressure, and I believe this distinction has been critical to establishing trust with my audience.
When people observe me applying the same principles I teach during actual market hours—managing risk, following my rules, handling the psychological challenges—it validates the methodology in a way that theoretical instruction never could. They see that I’m not just a teacher but a practitioner who lives by the same disciplines I advocate.
This approach has created a reputation built on authenticity rather than marketing. My community knows that I’m not asking them to do anything I wouldn’t or don’t do myself. The transparency extends beyond just showing successful trades; I openly share challenges and lessons learned from difficult market periods, which I believe further strengthens credibility.
Ultimately, I think what distinguishes respected educators from the multitude of voices in the trading world is this willingness to demonstrate expertise through consistent, observable action rather than just words. By opening up my trading screen and thought process to others, I’ve built a reputation based on demonstrated competence rather than claimed expertise—and that difference has resonated with serious traders looking for genuine mentorship rather than just information.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My journey in trading and business has been defined by moments that tested my resolve, but two particular chapters stand out as demonstrations of my resilience.
The first occurred at the very beginning of my trading career. Despite dedicating myself fully to learning the markets, I didn’t make any money during my entire first year of trading. This is precisely the point where most aspiring traders abandon their pursuit, concluding that success in the markets isn’t attainable for them. It’s a natural human response to interpret early failure as evidence that you’re on the wrong path.
What differentiated my approach was my fundamental belief that success wasn’t about immediate results but about refining my process. Rather than becoming discouraged by losses, I treated each setback as diagnostic information. Instead of asking “Why isn’t this working for me?” I asked “How can I adjust my approach to make it work?” This subtle shift in perspective was transformative. By maintaining unwavering faith in the possibility of success while simultaneously being willing to critically examine and modify my methods, I created a framework for continuous improvement.
This persistence eventually paid dividends as I began seeing consistent profitability in my second and third years. The lesson wasn’t just about trading but about the power of focusing on process improvement rather than being results-oriented during the learning phase of any challenging endeavor.
The second test of resilience came when I established my auto service center business as part of my path to permanent residency in America. This venture thrust me into entirely unfamiliar territory—managing employees, operations, and business finances—with no prior experience. The early days were particularly challenging as the business struggled to generate profit. During this period, I found myself in the precarious position of using all my daily trading profits just to cover employee salaries and keep the business afloat.
This created immense financial and psychological pressure. I was essentially working two full-time jobs: trading actively to generate income while simultaneously learning to run a business in an industry I knew nothing about. I lived well below my means, sacrificing personal comfort to ensure the business survived, knowing that both my immigration status and professional future depended on its success.
What carried me through was the unshakable belief that temporary sacrifice would lead to lasting achievement. Rather than viewing these struggles as signs I had made a mistake, I saw them as necessary steps on the path I had chosen. This perspective allowed me to maintain focus and determination even when immediate evidence of success was scarce.
Eventually, the business turned around and became profitable, validating the sacrifices and persistence. These experiences taught me that resilience isn’t just about enduring hardship—it’s about maintaining a growth mindset during difficulties, seeing challenges as opportunities for improvement rather than reasons to quit, and having the discipline to stay the course when results aren’t immediately visible.
This resilience has become fundamental to my identity as both a trader and entrepreneur. It’s the quality that transforms setbacks from endpoints into waypoints on the journey to success—a principle I now emphasize when mentoring others facing their own moments of doubt and challenge.
