Lauren, appreciate you joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?

Biophilic Design – This trend emphasizes the connection between nature and indoor spaces. Incorporating natural elements like stone, plaster, raffia, plants, pottery, Layers of texture. We recently had a new build where the couple enjoyed all sorts of outdoor activities so we wanted to incorporate natural elements into the scope of the design. We used stone on the interior walls, plaster fireplace, steel doors, wood beams and fabric that gave a nod to nature. In the end the spaces felt organic and cozy.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

As the daughter of a Contractor, Lauren grew up redesigning her room over and over with sketches of floor plans and lots of paint. She learned from a very young age the ins and outs of what it takes to create a well thought out home. She dreamed of owning her own interior design firm and one day merging with her father’s construction company to create a full service design firm. After receiving her degree in Interior Design at Virginia Commonwealth University, she worked for a well renowned hospitality and residential design firm where she gained 6 years of hands on experience. From there she ventured on to partnering with Debbie Brooks and co-owned Posh Home. They collaborated together on projects for over 10 years. After a successful decade as a design duo, Lauren’s childhood dream finally came to life and Lauren Christopher Designs was created. For Lauren, interior design is creating a place where you want to build memories while making spaces feel timeless and cozy.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

As a passionate designer, I thrive on creating meaningful connections through my work. My personable approach allows me to understand client needs deeply, ensuring that every design not only looks great but resonates with my client. Committed to collaboration and integrity, I prioritize value over profit, ensuring that my designs serve the greater good while inspiring and engaging those who experience them. Thus creating meaningful relationships with my clients.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

I have mainly grown my business through word of mouth. I believe I have achieved this through trust, professionalism, and being authentic. I feel as though I stay true to myself and let my personality build genuine connections while maintaining professionalism with open communication and being reliable. Being transparent and honest goes a long way. My clients genuinely believe in me and know that my heart is fully engaged and their project is in good hands.
