We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kirah Koo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kirah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
There was never a moment of “realizing” I wanted to pursue art—it was always in me. I started with dance, and for as long as I can remember, movement was my first language. Before I even had the words to express myself, my body already knew how. Art isn’t something I chose; it’s who I am.
I don’t have a backstory of an epiphany or a single defining moment. It’s deeper than that. I was born into this—creating, expressing, feeling everything in motion. There was never an “if” or “should I?” when it came to pursuing an artistic life. The real question was how to make it work in a world that often tries to convince artists to choose something safer, something smaller. But playing it safe was never an option for me.
Art isn’t just something I do—it’s who I am, and it’s been with me from the start. No matter what’s ahead, it’s the one constant I’ll always trust.

Kirah , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m an artist who has been creating through dance for as long as I can remember. It’s always been a natural part of who I am. From the moment I started moving, I knew I had a unique relationship with art and expression. Dance, for me, isn’t just a performance or a craft; it’s a way of existing. It’s how I process the world and communicate the things words can’t quite capture.
As I grew, other forms of art began to open up to me. Acting, painting, jewelry making, and clothing design all became new ways for me to tell my story. I quickly realized that the creative energy I had in dance was not confined to just one medium—it’s something that flows through everything I do. Now, I’m not just a dancer—I’m an artist telling my story through multiple forms of expression. Acting allows me to step into different characters and stories, while painting, writing, jewelry making, and clothing design give me fresh ways to communicate my personal experiences and perspective to the world.
Through my work, I bring a raw authenticity and emotional depth to everything I do. Whether it’s a performance, a design, or a piece of art, I focus on connecting deeply with those I create for and with. I solve the problem of disconnectedness—helping people find a way to connect with their own emotions, their creativity, and each other.
What sets me apart is the honesty I bring to my craft. I’m not interested in hiding behind polished façades. I show the messy, vulnerable, powerful side of creating art. It’s that vulnerability that makes the connection real.
I’m most proud of the moments when my work resonates with people on a deeply personal level. When someone watches my performance or interacts with something I’ve created and feels seen or inspired—that’s when I know I’m moving in the right direction.
For my followers, fans, and potential clients, I want them to know that my work is all about authenticity, connection, and passion. Art is about embracing the full spectrum of human experience, and I’m here to guide others through that journey. It’s not just about the finished product—it’s about the process, the emotions, and the shared experience along the way.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My creative journey is driven by one core mission: to become the highest version of myself. Every piece of art I create, every performance I give, and every project I take on is a reflection of my commitment to growth and self-evolution. I don’t just want to be good at what I do—I want to push boundaries, challenge myself, and constantly evolve. The more I grow as an artist, the more I understand that it’s not just about perfecting my craft, but about embracing vulnerability, facing fears, and discovering new depths within myself.
This mission fuels my work, driving me to dig deeper with every project and to always aim higher. The goal isn’t to arrive at a perfect version of myself—it’s to embrace the process of becoming, to be open to change, and to continuously redefine what’s possible. That’s what keeps me motivated and connected to my art every single day.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
There was a time in my journey when I felt incredibly isolated. It seemed like I was surrounded by people, but no one truly understood me or my path. I spent so many moments feeling like I was invisible, like my passion, my drive, my art—all of it was lost on the people around me. It was painful, and at times, it felt like I was carrying a weight no one could see or share. But in that isolation, I learned something profound: that even the people who chose to distance themselves from me were part of my journey.
What I once saw as abandonment, I now see as a lesson. In those moments, I was forced to turn inward, to dig deeper into my soul and reconnect with my purpose. It was in the quiet, in the solitude, that I began to understand the depth of my resilience. I realized that my art isn’t just a reflection of the good, but of everything I’ve been through—the pain, the loneliness, the moments of doubt. Those moments of isolation were not a sign of weakness; they were shaping me into something stronger, something more whole.
Spiritually, I came to understand that the universe sometimes isolates us to protect us, to push us toward our truest selves. The people who walked away or failed to understand me were not obstacles; they were stepping stones that led me to a deeper understanding of my own strength and purpose. I had to learn to trust that everything was unfolding as it was meant to. It’s through that isolation that I learned how to stand alone and still be whole.
Now, I look back at those times not with bitterness, but with gratitude. They were necessary to help me find my power. Those who isolated me weren’t my enemies; they were part of the bigger picture, and they made me stronger than I could have ever imagined.
