We were lucky to catch up with Chase Crouse recently and have shared our conversation below.
Chase, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a husband and father of 3, soon to be 4! I come from an academic and faith based professional background and kind of fell into the fitness industry because I always liked sports and exercise, and it seemed like a cool side gig to help pay the bills.
For years I worked in ministry, then eventually tech sales, while building up my company on the side. Pouring most of the money we made back into the business to help pay for things like infrastructure and marketing. This allowed me the time to build our model on a MRR model instead of the normal high ticket model that most online fit-pros use. We intentionally did this because we knew we wanted to work with people from all walks of life, and not just those who could drop 5-10k for an online coach.
Our company is a Catholic based online personal training and nutrition coaching company that works with clients both 1:1 and with a subscription app. We like to say we are authentically Catholic and technically excellent in how we approach diet and exercise.
While there are other Catholic personal trainers out there, and I’m friends with many, we are the first company with a team of coaches that people can choose from. Both men and women find that our approach and coaching options allows them the ability to work with someone who they are comfortable with and shares their values.
I think I am the most proud of the fact that we have come as far as we have WITHOUT caving to the popular opinion that online coaches have to charge high ticket to be successful. Our model has allowed us to work with hundreds of clients who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford working with a fitness professional.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I went into college and my masters assuming I would be working in ministry and never make much money in my career. I had a heart to help people and didn’t care much that I wouldn’t ever be a millionaire. I was forced to reevaluate this approach when my wife and I had two kids, and knew we wanted more without forcing her to have to go back to work full time if she didn’t want to.
I had already started my company at this point (2020) but I treated it more as a side gig and never really thought about turning it into a career path. However, in 2022 we started having different organizations reaching out seeking to partner with us to help their constituents, which really put us on the map for the first time. Since then, we have doubled in size every year and have been able to help so many people.
This is when I changed from full time ministry to full time entrepreneur. Totally terrifying but totally worth it.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn that my company making more money was a bad thing. This might sound silly, but coming from a ministry background I really had no concept of what companies needed to make and spend. It took me a few years, but I eventually realized that the only way I could help more people, was to spend money on paid ads so they knew we existed. And you can spend money you don’t have.
I had to change my outlook from viewing making money just for the sake of making it, to making it in order to equip us to help more people live a healthy lifestyle.
