We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Trunnis Goggins, II. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Trunnis below.
Hi Trunnis, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My original mission was to write books to help aspiring entrepreneurs and young professionals buying direction, plan appropriately, and remain motivated through the ups and downs of their career. However, once I created a lasting relationship with my publisher, I realized that I would use the doors that I open to give others a voice. As a result in addition to my “The 4Ps of You” franchise of books, I created a “Stories of” series which is an anthology of books that deal with subjects of grief, veteran transition, drug abuse and recovery, and even I book that is coming out in 2026 of people who have overcome circumstances of prostitution and human trafficking. These books are to give a voice, create awareness, and even assist nonprofit groups and issues and manners of funding and promotion.
Trunnis, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am one of the founders of 4P Group LLC which is in adhocracy in which we offer several services. We want to be very flexible in our operation. Currently our focus is on helping entrepreneurs, and nonprofit groups plan and get off the ground. Our books also focus on the individual. Ww take a whole person approach to business and professionalism. We understand that there is a balance between personal and professional life and we want to make sure that we help provide guidance on finding a balance. Currently we are most proud and helping bring awareness to social issues that remain in the shadows and provide solutions to those who feel that there may not be any hope. Again that is our flexible nature and the services that we provide. Currently we are really promoting the “Stories of” series and trying to generate awareness and funding to help fund various projects around the world. Currently we are working on offering assistance to a group in Tasmania Australia named Ester’s House. Esther’s house is an organization that offers refuge to women trying to escape the sex trade.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Primary lesson that I had to unlearn is stick to your plan. Plans are made to be modified and sometimes broken. What I set out to do with The 4Ps (purpose planning passion and persistence) is still what I am doing, but the movement has taken a turn for the better. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and helping others. Under my former business plan, I may not have been able to do that.
Have you ever had to pivot?
I’ve had to pivot a number of times (we all do). However, during this journey my number one pivot was my first installment of the book The 4Ps of You. My original publisher made it difficult for me to do exactly what I wanted the book today. As a result, I’ve had to ride out the book until my contract with my original publisher expired. I now work with the publisher (for same publisher that is doing the stories of franchise) and we are rereleasing my original book in expanded form. This pivot did initially cost me money but in the long run it will give me the results that I originally desired. Sometimes moving backwards is the best way to move forward
